I Like the Current State of the Game

It doesn't get said enough, probably because the people who feel this way are mostly playing the game rather than posting their thoughts, but I like the current state of the game.

I like that everyone has access to runes.

I like that I get the role I want 90% of the time, even if I get autofilled once in a while.

I like that laning phase doesn't take 20 minutes.

I like that teamfights break out early and often.

I like that bot lane has become a major early game objective.

I like that outplaying your opponents early on actually leads to something, rather than getting stalled at a tower while they farm back up whatever advantage you might have secured.

I like that tanks deal enough damage to kill a lone ADC, rather than having ADCs lifesteal away all of a tank's damage.

I like that the IFS is taking out the toxic players .

I like that the leaver buster provides immediate penalties for frequent leaving.

The boards are loud, and for a while now they've been clamoring for the heads of the balance team, but I actually like the direction things are going.

I agree. Barring Zoe and the upcoming Baron changes, I like the way the game is headed right now. I've been having loads of fun.

"Access" to runes isn't really a good way of putting it seeing as you're forced to take what Riot has decided on for pretty much the entire first half of your experience.

You only get SOME access to them at level 11 when you actually start being allowed to switch some of them around.

Level 15 is where you finally get real access where you're allowed to finally shift all of your runes into the pages you actually want.

And this is bad, why?

Riot is actively trying to teach you how to play the game. The first 30 lvls are like a toddler growing up......you honestly have no clue what you're doing. So, having someone guide you on a game like this could be helpful.

But, I can see why you're complaining.........how is it being banned?

Wouldn't know, coming from other MOBAs that don't have such a shit early game for their players.

Also they're not teaching you anything, like at all in any way shape or form, there are no tutorials explaining Runes whatsoever, it's just: Here play with these same 4 things we give you until we decide you've done that enough.

How is it, being ignorant I mean?

Well first of all, before level 15 what do you really know about the game? If you're like the vast majority of players, when you're new, runes (and the old runes and masteries) mean absolutely nothing to you. Really they meant very little to anyone, even after level 30 when you had the ones you wanted. Most people just went on some site and copied whatever someone else suggested. I bet you can't off the top of your head tell me how much physical damage reduction flat armor seals used to give you, but for sure you had them, because every guide suggested them.

And second of all, when you talk about the state of the game, it's always in comparison to a previous state. Are you going to tell me you don't think think players have greater access to Runes today than they had Runes and Masteries before? Talk about ignorant.

What part of the runes requires a tutorial?

They start off locked as bonuses applied to your champion when you're getting started so they you don't worry about them, and then additional ones are spoon fed to you as you get more experience and actually have a chance to understand what they entail. The descriptions of the runes tell you which classes they're generally good for, and you have the presets to build off of.

What part of that is a "shit early game?"

I just want to input that it's a lot easier to say something is bad then that something is good. It's more psychological but you will remember the times that were good in a game and not the bad parts of it. Like, in season 5, some people could think it was a great meta where adcs weren't dominating. However, in the flip side, you had nunu and other tanks just face tank an adc and kill you with only cinderhulk. It was honestly quite funny when it happened. I think you also had the cinderhulk top lane thing happening but I don't 100% remember all the facts. That aside, I feel like there are a lot of issues like top lane feeling a feast or famine type of lane (if you get behind a little, it feels like you have no hope in lane but you can get carried anyway). Supports imho don't feel like they have the most amount of flexibility in their items and can get stale, while also having access to some op cheap items. However, the game overall feels like it does go into a nice pace in I believe half the games. Tanks are Imo in a balanced spot. The new runes, although I do think there are a lot of issues that need fixing, have helped to give the game a nice refreshing touch to it. Also, the new leveling system, although could need some improvements, makes you have a nice sense of how long you were playing. This way you can brag to your friends about how you are level 100 or w/e level you became.

I think the problem is some champions offer nothing in a game that's so fast paced currently

On one hand you have people who ramp up really fast and reward this type of play

on the other halve you have the slow and methodical style of players who want to win with more then what feels like a facesmash to them

its very difficult to please one without upsetting the other

Added a couple more lines about IFS and leaver buster.
