Can Azir's soldiers have reduced attack speed the farther away he is from them?

Now that his play rate has quadrupled in the past 2 patches and I see him constantly, I'm remembering how bull shit he is, and clearly so has the community.

At least this way is has to be somewhat in the fight and not just a super ranged hyper carry with tons of self peel that nobody can get to.

i don't think it will ever happen. azir still have bugs till today and needs a lot of work. also, azir is not easy to play so making him attack slower would make him even harder than now.

How about making it so that frozen heart, randuins omen and other attack speed slows actually function against the soldiers.

Ok so lets discuss this nerf:

This would make it so that Azir would have to get close to his enemies to deal the most damage, therefore encouraging him to get close. This nerf is the most "obvious" idea on how to implement this change.

Instead, however, what if we rephrase your idea to sound like this: Azir's soldiers get reduced attack speed the closer they are to him. What does this do? It makes it so that Azir has to maintain his distance to deal maximum damage. It means that if you manage to gapclose against him, he'll have a difficult time dealing with you.

This would be a much smarter nerf to him as it would encourage a play pattern of a long range auto attacker, instead of making him like every other champ that needs to get in your face to do damage.

How about we remove his ability to hit wards, GP barrels, etc with his soldiers

Variable attack speeds feel like crap and would compound Azir's already ridiculously high skill floor.
