If you think Rek'Sai is absurd on Summoners Rift, she completely ruins Twisted Treeline

I know Twisted Treeline is a meme for most and everyone knows that some champions are very strong on that map, but Rek'Sai completely ruins everything about it.

There are no wards on the Treeline but her Tremor sense lets her know where everyone is. Most walls are huge and unflashable on that map but Rek'Sai's tunnel goes through all of them. She can enter bushes invisibly and if you're even a tiny bit away from tower you're basically dead. Towers are in the center of the lane and so close to walls on that map that she often just dives you then tunnels to safety before your team can even retaliate. Her damage is through the roof, her mobility is almost unmatched, and her domination on that map is unstoppable if she gets even a slightly ahead.

I know nobody cares about Twisted Treeline and it hasn't been balanced around in ages, but for the few players like me who love that map, it'd be nice to see some of the problematic champions dealt with. Some champions are strong there, like Illaoi and Garen, but Rek'Sai breaks all the rules of the map and completely ruins the gameplay. For many Twisted Treeline games the game is decided in champ select.

I hope the Treeline gets some love. Riot pls.

I mean the map itself isnt the same both sides. If i remember correcly the left (?) golem camp is under the tower radius and you can get hit by it while the right golem camp is not under the tower range ( so you can fight to your hearts content. Also there is Camille with her e can simply go over the same walls as Rek Sai, Kayne/Talon with a Yommus can pretty much do the same. At this point i would love to redesign the map first and then look for the balance issue. And i have played like more 60 ranked in TT and more normal TT and Hexakill( the TT version of it)- so i have total 180 games in all across the accounts. I am not a good TT player but i would like to play more if the map was fixed or redesigned.

Twisted Treeline will always be an abomination of imbalace. If it's not RekSai

Then it's

Garen Kayn Urgot Illaoi Brand Poppy Anivia Maokai . . .

Some champions become significantly stronger when there are only 3 champions on the opposing team to burst them down and 1 ranged (typically immobile) carry to try and kite them.

even Volibear becomes relevant because of how the map works.

It's just a forgotten game mode by Riot.

twisted treeline will end up like dominion. some random day some big riot guy will wake up and be like "oh shit that map exists. delete it and just make up some untrue bullshit like it taking up too much ressources even tho noone put any ressources into it in years and tell them its the less played gamemode even tho at the time dominion was played more than TT"

It's honestly kinda refreshing to hear someone complaining about a jungler being strong in TT. For ages, almost all complaints I've seen have been about Support meta and hypercarries. Makes for a nice change of pace.

Unfortunately, I don't have any tips against Rek'Sai for you, as it's been so long since I've seen one.

It's actually really sad that Twisted Treeline has been abandoned. I truly believe that if they just gave the map a makeover a ton of people would find they would love it and it would get the balancing it needs. It's the dark and gloomy alternative to summoner's rift and it has unique mechanics that could really be fun to learn and explore if it was just given the love it deserved. I'm really sad that Riot doesn't care, I love this map.

Yea, she's quite a power pick atm, but tbh, if it's not her it's someone else, there is plenty of broken shit in TT and the map needs a bigger overhaul or LOTS of balanceing.(or a revert to the old version with ebonmaw and wards) Also, statistically, kayne is a much bigger issue....

Earl Eulrich3/11/2019, 10:01:20 AM3 votes

Well she´s certainly very strong atm, but so are a lot of things.

I´d still rather see changes to Taric first, he´s meta-defining strong still as the main funnel-enabler. Also Illaoi is not necessarily that strong but just pushes out so many options that you almost have to ban her as default aswell...and don´t even get me started on sylas.

The best first step honestly would be to give TTT 10bans already.

Twisted treelines? You mean the leveling map?

Lovelle3/11/2019, 10:25:05 PM2 votes

Rek'sai, Kayn, Brand, Poppy, Yasuo. There are a lot of OPs on 3v3 right now.

Quality post. Really deserves more attention because it captures the situation really well.

Oh no! X Champ is busted, complain complain complain!

If you have a problem with Rek'sai, take a counter pick or counter comp to her. If she's "soooo busted" then play her. She's not that hard of a jungle champ.

You get a good protect comp (hyper-adc/irelia/super mage) and a bruiser/tank/support combination of some sort to protect and it makes it real hard to team fight. Sure you get an advantage in the laning phase, but if you play even a little bit defensive Rek'sai can't do much to punish. She has flash like everyone else and once it's gone all you got is tunnel mobility which GETS you to lane but doesn't gap close unless your over-extending like a fool. In addition building some defense to help mitigate it will starve her out. She's a feast or famine champ, by mid game if you aren't ahead you are behind on the champ.

She has power, sure, but she has plenty of exploits. Lot's of champs that can just fuck her up. Cho'gath can ult her super easy and kill her with that burst damage on the ult, anivia's radius of control is huge, and along with her walls and tight space it's hard to get access to her. Take Illaoi, a great team fighter and hard to burst bastard, Rek'sai will struggle against that. Take a counter jungler stronger than Rek'sai and can outplay her and harass her while she farms and steal camps.

Plenty of ways to win.

Until her latest buffs in 9.4 or was it 9.5 she was actually really weak. She had terrible scaling and a very small window to snowball with her mobility advantage allowing most competent players to just wait her out like any other snowball champ.

The new conqueror and changes to her ult have greatly increased her scaling giving her a much larger window to snowball. According to most of the 3v3 community she still isn't even S tier.

If they're gonna fix something, they should fix that graphical bug with the Vilemaw buff or maybe the fact that minions stack directly on top of one another for the first few waves making them impossible to target for last hitting. Or the fact that Skarner's pillars are not symmetrical from red side to blue side.

I honestly have no idea why Twisted is still in the game. I guess it's a nice game mode for newer players, because it's smaller and easier to process, but no one really plays it. I think it's fun for all the people who do play... but Dominion had a huge community as well but riot still removed it. There were multiple mini games with huge communities on dominion, they could've at least kept it as a custom game map, because that's what everyone used it for.

Flawless Fetus3/11/2019, 1:52:51 PM1 votes

I'd prefer game breaking junglers to the funnel meta.

LetMeAfkPlss3/11/2019, 4:11:15 PM1 votes

I gave up on that mode used to be my favorite they have one ranked queue and it's a flex..

DrippyBrownHole3/11/2019, 6:14:00 PM1 votes

They can't even balance characters on Rift. You expect them to balance characters on Rift and Treeline at the same time?

SomeOneButNoOne3/11/2019, 10:26:38 PM1 votes

When I was just starting off to play League, I only played TT.

There was no gold funneling, no overbearing r%%%%%ed itemization, just plain old 3v3, where whoever gets Jax/Trynd wins! :P

Boi season 1 was fun :D

Inkling Commando3/13/2019, 8:32:09 PM1 votes

of course Reksai ruins TT cause nobody plays it anymore.
