What is the appeal in rek Sai?

Buttigieg 2020··1 votes·501 views

I played a couple rek sai games and I do not see the appeal. I tried warrior, cinder hulk, full damage, full tank, cleaver hulk, and none of them seemed to be useful. Early game she clears pretty well and ganks pretty well but mid and late game she just feels like a knock up bot. Wouldn't lee sin or gragas do her job better since they don't fall off as hard. If their is something I am missing please tell me.

She can get to other parts of the map very quickly with her Ult

She can constantly invade safely because she can see the enemy with Tremor Sense

She can escape and engage fairly easily due to her tunnels

Her knockup is AoE and not tied to a long CD

Her poke grants vision and is really long range

Her allies benefit from Tremor Sense as well

Watch some LCS and see how she's used. She actually really good. But if you like Lee Sin or Gragas better, go ahead and use them. There's nothing wrong with any of them.

Lee sin not fall off as hard? Best joke of the year.

It's funnier that you think he does considering his base damage and ratios beat talon's.

No it's true. The inability to itemize everything he can do because he can do everything ultimately makes at least some part of his kit fall off. This results in Lee Sin being unable to 1v3, a substantial reduction in power from early game.

That is a logical fallacy. Lee sin cannot itemize for everything, therefore he falls off.

Pardon but...look at Pantheon. He falls off. Strong base, poor scaling. He itemize for his specialty and does not dish out as much damage.

that is falling off.

Lee sin scales well damage wise and has enough to.be relevant even after building tanky.

seriously, the argument of falling off does not apply to him. Otherwise you would apply it to talon.

pant and poor scaleing? faling of lategame is not that much a matter of scaleing numbers, but off how the kit works. Pant has massive scaleings, his Q+E is on incredible low cd and has a higher ad scaleing than Lees entire combo with ult. The problem is, pants E is a short range channle, and pant has a noticable cd on his mobillity, so in a 5v5 fight(which is rather common in the lategame) he has problems at reaching the right targets with his damage, even though the damage potential is really high. He also has not that great base and little cc, so he can't really go tanky, so either he can do high damage, but most likely gets cced and dies befor he can really use it, or he does not that great damage but can atleast survive a bit. Same with lee, if he doesn't get a great flank, he will have problems reaching the right target with his Q, and most of his damage is singetarget. He also has huge energie issuses if he can't use the Passive, and in a teamfight vs some cc, it becomes quite hard to land some AAs in between you skills as Lee.

Also, Talon does fall of pretty hard in the late-ate game. As soon as his target is able to survive his burst, he drops hard. He has no way to escape after his first burst, nor to follow up on it. And besides that, he still is better latergame than pant or Lee, as he can perform his entire burst within a sec after a instant gapcloser, which makes it pretty impossible to prevent him from bringing in that damage, and aditionally most of that damage hits on a big aoe.

well, you miss the appeal that a insane early with a weak late as tradeoff has for some people. I don't like playing her either, as i love to have a huge impact in lategame fights, but her early-mid is insane, her mab-mobillity in unrivaled, her early damage for ganks aswell as clears is really high, aswell as her sustain, and besides lee and his ward-hops, she is the only champ that doesn't loose any damage or cc in her gank if she uses her mobillity tool to shortcut over a wall, which opens up alot gank paths and makes her early ganking pressure pretty overbearing if used right. As a trade off for all that, she does scale even worse than udyr into the late...

she is fun?

really though

you have a manaless jungle clear (which before runglaive was a HUGE issue for mages) you can do a FULL clear of your side of the jungle before needing to back (enough to buy your jungle upgrade, boots and a pink ward) you can have some nice ganks at lvl 3 of you choose to not get a 2nd lvl of Q at lvl 3

she has a good engage with CC or a good escape with tunnels

and she can heal pretty nice after each fight because of the fury generated

true damage at full fury E (pretty "meh" until its maxed but once it is its pretty damn nice she has a good chase withitem 3071 anditem 3022 and chillingsummoner 11

plus she is pretty damn nice with devourer
