Can we plz make garen harder to play

I'm so done with this spin to win garen is the most brain dead champion in league of legends i could set my dog on my laptop and he would be able to play garen

some reasons why garen is a champion that is no fun to play against

  1. little counter play

garen is a champion that is extremely forgiving when you engage badly all you have to do is sit quietly and wait for his passive to be over

also his silence plus his spin to win has no counterplay he silences you then spins on you then ults you and you can do nothing

  1. no mana

has anyone noticed manaless champions are the ones that are the strongest

zed, lee, kat, akali, riven

garen can literally spam his spin and constantly push you to tower allow him to activate his passive allowing him to stay in lane indefinitly

  1. too easy

I have a friend who literally played garen till he got to silver

garen is easy to pick up and easy to build

he's unkillable late game since all he'll do is build tank also the fact his passive can crit is stupid like

1. but Garen has long cooldowns

has anybody notice most garens rush a brutalizer his ult at lvl 3 has a 80 sec cooldown which is ridiculous for how powerful it is, also garen at lategame will have enough health to sit there and spam laugh while his cooldowns comeback

2. Garen has a weak late game

his passive lets his health 2% of his health each second he could be back and running in 50 seconds plus he can delete adcs with only 1 offensive items

3. your bronze how should I give what you say any weight

your right i am bronze but that doesn't mean I don't know when something is stupid

4. just poke him when he's squishy

I've seen this argument so many times it hurts there is a very small opportunity to kill Garen before his first back, but the problems is you'll never out trade him. His early game is strong, and most Garen's on the first back get a chain vest effectively destroying any chance of you doing damage to him since most top laner's are ad this window is also very small from lv 1-4 is when you can futilely try to kill him after that you'll never win trades because of that ult which requires you to beat him really hard in a trade which will not happen due to his innate tankiness

5. play ap top laners

most ap top laners poke the enemy laner out of lane but one problem arises here garen loves poke lanes where he can sit back and let his passive do the work plus he can also rush spirit visage instead of sunfire

6. play Jax

now i have many qualms with jax but I won't say them jax's damage is mostly ap but the problem is that garen is and ad caster tank not and aa champ so he can just spin on you and kill you

7. garen is not op

well i have a well structured argument on how he is stupid and I neither say say that he is op he's on teemo level really

The reason Garen and fom the looks teemo's troll you is bc you the player refuse to adapt your play style. Garen is a tank with a good kit. Yes he's easy to play most beginner level champs are. If Garen and Teemo were so OP and Had no counter play why are they not banned more? You know by the players that play high level ranked ect... I'm new to Lol and only silver but even I can say I have never once seen someone ban Garen. Most of your complaints are fault with your play style. His passive? lmfao dont let it activate. Spin to win lol make him spin under your turret or with in range of your minions. Pluse he doesn't deal tons of damage he's more of a dps kinda guy. Learn to use potions and heal up instead of fighting him with low hp. I don't hate you because your bronze, I dislike you because Garen is easy to counter and you refuse to become a better player and learn how.

I don't say that he's overpowered or that I have trouble against him it's that he needs a rework and that his kit has no counter play he's like teemo really f*cking annoying and doesn't impact the game but just pisses you off to point where you want to smash the players head in for choose said champion

actually your statement about countering Judgement with minion aggro is wrong. The rest is fine.

Judgement is AOE and therefore does not draw minion aggro, this is a fact I use when laning with him all the time. If your lane opponent has buried themself in the minion wave, you can initiate with Judgement to deal damage to them while also CSing and NOT drawing any minion aggro. They will naturally move away from the damage source, and therefore away from their minions and now you can duel them without worrying about minions.

You're still right about most of the rest of what you said.

If Garen takes damage from champs or the tower or cannon minions (sub 6), Perseverance chuts off for 9 seconds. That's enough time for most champs with a skill shot to have it up again. Now you're only attacking him with skillshots and he's not helaing - pretty safe if you ask me. (directed at OP)

I didnt state judgement drew the aggro. the counter tactic means u draw him into your minions so he's their only target for aggro. Judgement or not. It just happens most garens go in the same way Q then E followed by E and if your low enough they hit R. Though I will say I've never let myself get low enough to be killed because I always play careful top to not over exstend. It's not the garen I worry about its the enemy Jungle. When going against a Garen you should know his ult gains damage the more your damaged so, if someone came for a gank you would be twice the risk.

As a counter pick against a Garen since the Op seems the bang his head against the wall faceing one I've noticed in pubs that I useally make Garens bang their heads against the wall with Heimerdinger It's not that garen is a weak pick against him. Its just most people at my level don't understand how to beat him.

Useing any champ vrs a garen I suggest constant poke/harrassment to keep his passive off and force him to buy pots.

Ah, yeah. single target attacks (AA's) will draw the minion aggro, and controlling minion aggro is step one in understanding the laning process. It is useful to note that if he does not open with Decisive Strike, and instead harrasses you with Judgement, the minions will ignore him. The tower will not. Also, if he has Sunfire and is attacking your turret, just walk up next to him so that you get hurt by Sunfire. This will make the turret target him. You already know this, again, directed help for the OP.

  1. Getting CDR doesn't change the fact that he has long cooldowns. He has LONG cooldowns. If you want to complain about champions who have short cooldowns and get CDR anyway... Riven.

  2. A CHAMPION CAN KILL AN ADC? BROKEN OP. Garen can't even catch most of the ADCs since they have a ton of peel and mobility.

  3. It actually means a lot. In this case, it means that you probably run up to Garen and try to fight him in melee range. Most people don't play Garen at high levels for the same reason they don't play Darius. He's a strong lane bully, but total dogshit later because everyone just kites them easily.

  4. So don't trade with him. Poke him. These are different terms. Trading implies that you are taking damage while dealing damage. Garen is a purely melee champion. You should be able to hurt him without taking any damage in return on a majority of champions. His passive doesn't work when you poke him because it shots off when he's damaged. And you realize his ult is one of the weakest of all the executes, right? Jinx does about as much damage, but is global, on a low cooldown, and AOE. Darius' is true damage, resetable, does more damage at max stacks, and has a lower cooldown. Nidalee Q outdamages Garen's ult under ideal conditions and it's on a 5 second cooldown. Come on, man. Garen's ult is the absolute last thing anyone should be complaining about. Here's a protip: Build a Hexdrinker. His ult will never kill you again, because HD will come off cooldown before his ult does.

  5. Why would you play an AP against Garen? I mean, it can work, but are you implying ADs can't beat him? Because they can.

  7. If you want to talk stupid champions. Riven is the same thing but better. She has harder CC, is way more mobile, does way more damage, can still tank, and her AD steroid/AOE execute is on a lowass cooldown.

Just bait his silence, make him use it when you want to, and then when it's over you kick his ass until he has to use his passive to regen health. Over all this time you should be farming lane and zoning him, in which you take the lead, get your items first and kick his ass again. Garen is not even close to OP. Especially not in this ranged top lane meta? Early game just stay in your minions and if he rushes past them to attack you, then you kite him as much as you can and let him take minion aggro. Zone him out and get ahead early!

pick anyone ranged, you auto win against Garen.....literally everyone beats him super easily. If you are rally that scared of him just ban him in your games.

As a silver player myself: getting to silver isn't that hard. I'm an awful player, but I managed it through placements alone. Like, if you're talking about freelo abuse, it had better be about a player who jumped 2-3 tiers with a given champion in less than a month, and even that could be attributed to someone finally just learning a way to play the game that gains them ranking.

All that to say, maybe your friend got silver because he deserved it, not just because he used an easy champion.

I dont think he's overpowered, but I do think he's overly obnoxious.

The only reason he is able to do anything at all is his silence, and Riot has already suggested that they dont like silence as a mechanic.

His "mechanics" consist of: Run up to enemy, silence enemy, spin, run away. Unless they have low health, in which case you use your point and click execute.

If you get in trouble, you can always "chaaarge" bravely in the opposite direction. Honestly I think until they get around to a real rework, they should alter his charge to only buff move speed if he is running toward an enemy, so he doesnt have yet another layert of safety.

And no, I dont know the names or bindings of his skills, I dont play Garen, ever.

Dude if he doesn't have any impact then take the free win and be happy. Teemo all you have to do is catch him slippin' as a mid laner and you can QWE him down may not even need R. For Garen get ahead early and during teamfights don't focus him! Theres plenty of counterplay to any champion.

I only have one legitimate complaint about Garen.

His silence makes me waste mana because I can't turn Singed's poison off when I harass. Makes me take like a whole ten more secons to bully him out of lane waiting for regen.

The only Garen that is overpowered is DFGaren. If you're complaining about Garen and not complaining about DFGaren, something is wrong in your head. Garen + item 3128 = GG EZ
