So i was yi. against a garen. he was about to ult me. I saw the animation. I alpha striked him. before i alpha strike the animation of his ult canceled. and resumed after the alpha strike and i got destroyed. is this intended?

Yes, as Yi can still be hit in alpha strike. He deals/takes damage after strike occurs.
