Who counters Illaoi?

She may not be picked much, but when she does, she swings the entire damn game. I've won my lane against her multiple times but unless I completely stomp her 3/0, she'll hit her lvl 9 powerspike like Irelia and completely wreck a bot lane skirmish and proceed to 1v1 me

I don't care that she's non-meta, when she does get picked, I just win lane then straight lose game after she hits that powerspike of hers

I've tried:

good god this was awful, I can kill her easily at lvl 1, but even with a huge lead she still wrecks me after Yeah, I can 1v1 her, but I can't stop her from flash ult W'ing my backline and just winning the fight with all the AoE Whoever said he counters her...I disagree strongly. The all game damage is crazy Steal her stats...still get killed by the 4-5 tentacles that show up from her own ult

EDIT: Alright, people seem to be assuming I'm strictly talking about early laning where it's incredibly easy to dodge her skills. I'm talking about these midgame skirmishes and teamfights in which she just dominates the fight with her ult no matter how behind

Her only powerful thing is her laning, survive that and she falls off ridicilously against non idiotic teams.

Her Q has quite a slow cast time & easy to predict, so technically, any champions with good finger reflex to move around lots can hit her hard. But in terms of the champs you listed:

Darius Should be the most easiest match-up for you. I rarely see Illaoi players rushing IBG as her first item, and despite that, you still have E for Armor Penetration anyway. Your bleed passive counters her hard, since the DoT damage can help wittle your spirit a lot faster.

Jax Either making her W in your E or dodging her E can cripple her temporarily, and use that time to engage on her.

Nasus Chances are that you're probably gonna get bullied hard, but at least your passive can give you some laning sustain. Wait for the late game to have the Q steroid up & running.

Trundle Can't really say much about this guy as I never played him a lot before :p

Disengage when she ults, kill her afterwards.

Outplaying Illaoi in a 1v1 is not hard, for any of those champions. Nasus and Jax can probably just facetank her when she ults and manfight her, and frankly I think Trundle probably can as well. I know Titanic Hydra is all the rage on him these days, but you may want to consider getting a Blade of the Ruined King to counter her own sustain with yours.

Other top laners who can 1v1 Illaoi:

Aatrox DrMundo Fiora (probably even after the nerfs) Garen Irelia (not tested, but probably. Disengaging when she ults is extremely easy since it's going to damage you. Just E and walk away until it's over) Malphite Ryze Shen Tryndamere Yasuo (I'm not sure about this last one)

As for skirmishes and team fights, peel when she ults and disengage. It really is that simple. This isn't entirely on you admittedly, but that's all you can do. Hope your team isn't bad.

Pretty much everyone if you just kill her tentacles imo. I play her quite a lot can't think of any direct counters myself. Maybe Jayce and I'm p sure Susan too :)

Teemo counters her well, only requirement is to ALWAYS be moving. Dodge her Qs, dodge her E. And if you get E'd, position yourself to avoid her Q and poke her down, you'll get your soul back, avoid being vesseled and do good damage early game.

summoner 14 helps since you cut down her healing from the Q by alot that way.

Ashe, vayne, varus, ahri, Alistair, orianna, anivia, Vladimir, yasuo, tahm, sejuani, Leona, and tristana are all mainly brain-dead counters to her engaging on your team. Stupid double post wifi. Sorry!!!

find champs that can outrange her work well agaisnt her all game.i wreck the hell ouutta her with maokai just spam his sappling to harass her bait out her skills then take her out. He can do some real damage to her and if it forces her to build early mr you have done your job cause in a team fight you will be much more effective.CHo is really good against her top as well she has a lot of good counters ppl just dont get that you cant go in on her till she has blown all the skills

nasus does counter her fairly well. you can stack the things that she makes, and her damage is manageable. if you are dying, you are likely taking too much poke from her, which is avoidable. once you go back and get more armor, should become even easier.

you get mspeed from your ult and stormraiders surge you have extreme aoe and mr shred with your e + passive You are tanky with your items and runes you get free spellvamp and you have copious amounts off cc that counter her gap closer and immobility

Poppy Her slam completely screws up illaoi Illaoi wants to fight next to walls? Slam her. Bad angle for stun? Do it anyway, it knocks her away from the walls. It's a huge pain for the Illaoi player since they rely on positioning to maximize damage.
