Is shiv better than pd on adcs?

this question gets asked a lot but heres the breakdown:

Shiv when u rush early avarice and behind for earlier powerspike

Shiv when u also just want to spike sooner to snowball ur lead

PD always when u dont get avarice early and dont need the early powerspike

PD > shiv, but shiv gets you stronger sooner

Some champions do it so they can complete that item and work on something else.

For some champions like Caitlyn who wants her BT and LW, this is a good idea.

If you are fed then PD is better for her.

If depends who you are and what you are doing build wise. I prefer PD like you do just I will and get why people are building Shiv.

It depends on the champion. If you want burst, SS is usually better because of the mixed damage. For pure late game scaling, PD is better because of the better flat stats

From most of the discussion i can recall about this topic, the most typical consensus depends on how much wave clear your team needs.

Need wave clear > get Shiv

Have enough wave clear > Get PD

I like PD on jinx since her rockets already give aoe damage and wave clear. But on most of the others I like shiv. Except graves, I do like pd on him too...

Shiv is better if you want burst and an earlier spike (see also, Yasuo)

PD is stronger otherwise.

grants higher DPS and turret damage. Get it if you want to split push or have a high attack speed scaling kit (ex Vayne, Kog-Maw, Sivir).

has an AOE that makes it easier to get assists and burst targets by surprise. Buy it if you get resets or have a bursty kit (ex Jinx, Graves, Quinn).

DON'T FORGET that you have a niche pick. Buy Ghostblade if you have a kit that scales well with cooldown reduction or steroids (ex Twitch, Lucian, Varus).

PD is a late game item, Shiv's a mid game item.

PD overall is the stronger item, but shiv gives you an earlyer powerspike, so if you need an early powerspike(maybe for dragon controll), shive is better, or if you pick up an early avaric, as it effectivly lowers the goldcost by another ~400g. But if you have IE+PD vs IE+SS, PD gives far more DPS

as it´s cheaper and you relay on critluck either way...just invest the saved money to buy sacrifices to the RNG-gods and Shiv will be stronger.
