Is Rek'Sai a good pick, if I am fairly new to the jungle role?

I have been forced to play jungle, because my friends take the other roles. I am liking the role tbf, and my fav jungler untill now has been Diana because of her great sustain. But she is useless before level 6. I watched a few fnatic/skt games, because I admire Bengi and Reignover, and saw how much of an early game impact Rek'sai can have. Should I pick her up? Or should I go for Elise?

Rek'sai is hard to play in the jungle in my opinion.

Rek Sai is one of the harder ones to play, I would suggest laying on of them and getting used to easier to do ones first. Hecarim/Shyvana/Udyr/Diana are good ones that aren't braindead simple like Yi or WW but also are pretty easy to fk up on.

Elise is a decent pick too, she is a bit hard to start out on but once you play a game or 2 with her you should have a good understanding.

reksai is easier than elise to play. I recommend building tanky with cinderhulk and a titanic hydra.

take elise reksai is good at clearing and great sustain but the problem i have with him is after u run into a teamfight and get a half sec knockup ur useless and prob dead i find this to be true no matter how much armor or health i have.Elise is a much better choice in my opinion great for tower diving good early game decent ganks if u can learn to land that coccoon

In soloQ, i think Elise is far better. Reksai really needs to make alot out of her early, and she needs to make best use of her global presence, which requires good teamwork, to be relevant. Elise has overall superior 1v1, is better at taking objectives and scales better into lategame in more chaotic games, as with some ap/magicpen, even on the usually lower gold of a jungler, she can out duel nearly anyone and kill squishys within the stunduration.

If you got some friends at hand for premade action, go for reksai, she can certainly be a beast, her early-midgame impact in coordinated teams is massive, and if you trust in the rest of your team, beeing a tanky knockup bot at lategame is probably enough.

As for sustain, reksais drops a bit on the first clear, but after the first back, she's really well sustained, and her clearspeed also is rather high. Elise overall has a really high sustain and speed in the jungle once you learned how to utilze her spiders for tanking without loosing them. Elise is certainly harder to play mechanically, but reksai has the more complicated decisionmakeing due to the options that her massive map-mobillity offers. Both have really powerfull early ganks if used well.

in the current patch, the three strongest junglers are lee sin, rexai and kindred. there is no big imbalance here, they are just marginally better due to their adaptability to the new jungle / the new jungle enforcing their old playstyle on all champions.

basically i'd say pick up whatever champion you feel like. and if its rexai, go and play her. shes strong. also, if you want to learn how to jungle, really just jungle alot with the same 1-2 champions. 100 rexai games and you will know how to clear properly and what setup to use to not suck. 200 more and you can call yourself rexai main and another 200 more and you can convince me you actually understand your champion now.

Depends on how new you are. If you are REALLY new, don't even bother playing other junglers without picking up Warwick and practicing some jungle clears. Then depending on what clears you like (and once you've gotten used to navigating the jungle and its monsters), then move on to other champs.

Jungling is highly dependent on staying healthy and doing clears properly. Improper clears lead to low health, which leads to successful enemy counterjungling, counterganking, and objective control. And that's something you don't want.

If you already know what each monster does and how to clear, then disregard this message.

if you play rek'sai but you're new to the role i suggest you to go a bit more damage thatn the lcs counterpart,in lcs rek is played full tank because her CC is pretty strong early game and her tremor sense is probably the most broken tool in professional play,in yoloq tremor sense is not all that appreciated and often a jungle get no followup because of bad map awareness so is better to build damage in order to be able to solo people and not rely on your bad teammates. Build should include warrior enchantment and then tank, maybe add an hydra if you are fed
