Is Azir the best scaling mid mage?

Remember how I asked something about wukong vs azir... now I play azir mid and I love it...... I nominate Azir as the best scaling mid mage better than karthus. Azir is mobile with w q e or even block off jungle fights to separate enemy team. I would also like to add: Setting him apart from other mids is he is NOT reliant at all on his ult. Ex: Orianna, syndra, fizz, zed..... this means that maybe he might see lcs play too. You can't capitalize on his ult being down in an organized play. His passive is great too afk farm. 100g killed turret is worth less to the enemy than all the gold it gets from the minion wave when YOU AREN'T there. (healing at base, ganking a lane)

EDIT: I love Azir because I feel like the puppeteer in Naruto LOL.... long ranged fighting that can kill people without getting in the action that much.

The problem with Azir is his underwhelming early game, and his lack of ability to actually stay safely away from his target and kite them. He needs time to rack up the damage, and although he can become quite bursty late-game, he's supposed to zone to compensate for his early-game weakness, but that doesn't help when the enemy mid-laner plays aggressive enough to take out Azir no problem.

I must have went against a bad ori (no offense to that player) cause I poked her until she had to back once. Next time she came to lane I had minion cs advantage=mana regen items. I poked her. She tried to kill me at 6 but she was poked down too much. By then or around there I got blue buff since I was deemed competent not to die. It was well used to zone so hard w q so much that ori couldn't do anything. Late game I did good too.

Well, you got to use the poking as much as possible to maximize his damage and it sounds like you did, so good job :)

I wouldn't call him underwhelming early, he is a pretty strong lane bully with fairly high range on his soldiers. If you can get on top of him he doesn't have much of an answer but it is difficult to do that after being poked down.

Or if you give up CS and not get poked down he will just safely farm until he gets a blue and then he gets very scary.

also lack of in kit synergy

well this synergy exists but hit kit isnt pointing in one direction as hard as others do (not to mention that his skills are useless unless you combo them and you cant use every skill in a combo because you usualy lose something important like safety or capability to follow up on your damage or chase) especialy when you use your ult and sweep everyone away from your soldiers

i think Azir or Ori. Although, late game cassio is pretty strong right now too.

Nothing beats Karthus late game. He is absolutely terrifying late game.

Veigar. Veigar is always the best scaling.

If a game goes 80 minutes maybe, but in a 50 minute game, he's kind of ass. Blowing someone up once they have any sort of MR gets very difficult, and escaping the stun gets easier once people can get Banshee's Veils and QSS and Mikael's. In my view, he's solidly midgame. Lane decently, get a DFG, go around and try to kill people enough that you can instagib anyone. Then, snowball to victory.

luckily veigar doent need his stun to kill people DFG Q and R and is enough :D not only is building mr totally shit, not everyone runs tanky anyone but full fledged tanks will just drop dead

Karthus scary as fk this guys literally trying to die cuz he will take everyone on the map with him ;l

Karthus still holds the throne. Hard to beat the nuke on his ult. Karthus dps is probably better too. It has a shorter cd and allows you to position your self better. Karthus also has amazing zone control. Wherever karthus or his wall is you don't want to be.

duh he scales best when enemy team ignores a squishy meele kiteable cooking pot walking around otherwise he buys some tankyness and his scaling goes to hell

Yeah... Azir has the best damage per second as AP... Good range... Great utility... mobility even... I would only put Karthus or AP Kog near him in an "ap scaling competition"

Meanwhile Cass sadly gets classified as a second rate late game carry for some reason. Why play her compared to the above? (IMO resistance shred/penetration would make Cass a tank killer and fits her poison/acid theme)

I always felt that Lissandra was the best mage, if you consider the fact that she can be very bursty, or can sustain her lane, she can escape ganks easily, she can gank easily, her ult basically gives her a zhonyas hourglass, She can be built almost every possible way, AP castor, AP top, and (Never seen this before but just thought about it) offensive support? Anyways Lissandra could be one of the best mages, shes just underestimated a lot.
