@Meddler: I need your opinion regarding an ultimate that drains the user's life for power

I'm having a heck of a time trying to balance this idea.

Basically, this ultimate is like a mix between Swain's Ravenous Flock and, say, Riven's Blade of the Exile. You toggle it on, and you drain your life every second (with an increasing upkeep cost), but gain a huge bonus to your AD and bonus effects on your basic abilities.

However, I feel that the ultimate is still... lacking. One bit of feedback I got is that it'll produce feast-or-famine scenarios, and situations where if you die while the ult is on, you feel as though you contributed to your own demise. While the same could be said of Dr. Mundo or Vladimir, they don't drain their own health to such an extreme very often; this Champion would be a different case.

What are your thoughts on such a thing?

R - Ebonmere

Toggled Off: Celes gains 10/15/20% bonus lifesteal. Celes does not receive this bonus while Ebonmere is toggled on.(possibly make this her passive like how morgana has passive spellvamp)

Toggled On: Celes taps into the power of the Ebonmere, granting bonus effects on her basic abilities and +30/50/70 bonus attack damage; this attack damage bonus increases by 1% for every 1% of Celes' missing health. However, Celes' base life regeneration is reduced to 0 and she loses health equal to 2% of her maximum health every second. This upkeep cost increases by 6/9/12 health every second. Ebonmere automatically deactivates if Celes drops to 1 health; the life drain cannot kill her. (the main issue here is a good amount of lifesteal can combat the lost health, also the way this ulti is set up for a total of +210 attack damage it is kind of like a more op riven you build a item 3748 item 3072 item 3071 item 1319 item 3053 item 3068 and essentially be unkillable, so i see the issue with trying to balance this ability being it could make or break this entire champion. remove too much she cant do much keep it as it well ^.)

Maximum AD bonus: 60/100/140

8 second cooldown after deactivation. Cannot be deactivated during the first 3 seconds after being toggled on. Celes cannot activate Ebonmere if she is below 10% of her maximum health.

sorry for the copy paste was just easier to make my points this way. XD

also i wouldnt make her completely damage based it is way too linear id make her E be a supportive skill for herself called darkness of ebonmere kinda like malzahars E except it gives vision with a reactivation to trvael the shadows of the ebonmere towards them. almost like katarina jumps into a blue portal she could drop into a black portal into the ground appearing next towards her target fearing them.

The fact that the ult's health cost increases every second means lifesteal can't hold it off forever. Also, since Celes has bad attack speed, she can't use lifesteal as well as, say, a Tryndamere or Aatrox.

Another thing is that you miscalculated her ult's potential bonus AD; she's able to get up to 140 bonus AD, not 210. And this is only when she's one hit from death. In either case, I'm planning to change it so that the bonus AD is flat at all points, not based on missing health, so that she's better when topped off.

As for your E suggestion, she's a juggernaut, so mobility isn't something I want to give her.

still 140 plus a slew of tanky items would still make her very feared especially since titanic hydra along with steraks and cleaver would make her deal alot of damage. with very very little thing being able to be done cause after those 3 you could just a warmogs spirit visage and sunfire.

Consider that Darius can get 200 bonus AD from his passive. Now THAT is scary, especially when he can get continuous speed from Black Cleaver as long as someone is bleeding.

Besides, I plan to nerf that damage bonus a bit anyways. Celes will still have brutal firepower, but like other juggernauts, she's vulnerable to being kited.

Trundle functions very similarly to this already, just the parts are more flung around on his kit. His Q steals AD, and his ult drains health for stats.

Trundle drains from his opponent. Celes drains her own life for power.

Kinda like Sion passive, but with slower health decay, maybe?

Moreorless. Plus you can turn off the health decay if you want to (though it'll go on cooldown).
