Calling all URGOT Players [Rework Pre-Discussion]

While Urgot has just received some updates on the PBE, we know Riot is still likely to give him a full-scale rework at some point. With that in mind, I'd like to start up a discussion about what we as a community like about Urgot, and what direction we would like to see him taken in.

Personally, my ideal Urgot emphasizes his fantasy as a tanky artillery platform. His E / Q playstyle of fishing for a hit and then following up on it is unique and immensely satisfying I'm less sold on his Ultimate: while definitely unique, it seems less suited to the fantasy of a large ranged Fighter / Marksman and more suited to an initiation Tank / Fighter.

I'd love to see him pushed into the role of a Ranged Juggernaut, using a zone-control mechanic (like his E, or like a large field that allows him to lock on) in place of the melee Juggernaut close combat kill range to dictate power zones and counterplay. Then you could utilize a build similar to a Juggernaut build, which fits nicely with his existing itemization (Frozen Heart, Black Cleaver, etc).

Your thoughts? What do you love or hate about Urgot?

landing E-Q-Q and getting that long-range kill feels so fucking good. Tbh if he has some kind of speed boost on terror capacitor i could see him being really good.

So would you agree with me that being that long-range artillery platform is one of the things you love most about Urgot?

basically. Its just such a shame urgot is so slow and easy to get away from that getting those kills is somewhat rare unless the enemy is ignoring you

I agree with it.

Riot basically has two options. Steer into the "ranged behemoth" or "TARGET LOCKED: FIRE" gameplay. He's trying to do both at the same time and it's just not working. Whichever way they go with Urgot, they should keep what is "scrapped" and put it on a new champion.

He needs to roast Sion for ditching him. "So, uh, Urgot. We can't hang out any more. I'm cool now." As much as I love Sion, URGOT DESERVES HIS REVENGE summoner 31

I personally love his anti-carry power, which is completely unique to him iirc for his rework, I'd LOVE to see his passive's damage reduction kept somewhere, and drop his w and ultimate.

Unfortunately, that rework won't be anytime soon. A rioter posted in the past week or two that the team hit a brick wall regarding what to do with his kit and moved on to other projects. They will revisit him, but 2016 might not see any significant changes.

I hope Urgot comes out as a disgusting, grotesque weapon platform. An eidolon, abomination who seeks to exterminate all life. If Sion was the reanimation that worked, Urgot is the one that was...less successful.

As far as what his kit should be like, I hope they do away with the lock on mechanic (the thing that made him toxic) and focus more on a mid range behemoth. I would like something like his E to remain, but more dot area like Cass and can be used for zonning. I would like to see something like his Q. Perhaps give him an upgrading like feature that augments his abilities after kills (maybe something else). After all, he is friends with Viktor.
