How to resist chugging a bottle of bleach when laning against GP?

There are few champions that counter me as a player.

GP Is one of them. I despise anti fun champs, and GP is the biggest anti fun champion there is.

All he does all laning phase is sit his ass on a barrel, half a lane back, only walking forward to q me or a minion once in a while. If you try to engage he runs the moment you set your first step, popping his barrel, slowing you in the process.

Once he gets sheen he just q's you until you're too low to try to fight, or zones you with it.

And if you manage to get on top of him, he just presses his "no not today" button and keeps running.

I usually play melee bruisers/tanks top, and GP just makes the lane so boring. Playing the game should be fun. GP is anti fun.

Tldr: All GP players are the biggest pussies I have ever seen and it triggers me.

A good Quinn player won’t be, but they do value defensive play and kiting, yes. Quinn’s nowhere near as bad as GP who can literally extend his barrel explosion without counterplay.

Literally leaning against this GP and he straight up shot his barrel and then put a second one down as it was exploding. It also detonated. Literally no counterplay as he chunks your health.

Thats called a one part combo. Probably the hardest gp combo if its what I think it is. But yeah thats never fun when it happens. I used to hate the hell out of gp.

Well it's probably personal bias, I can play against a gp better than I can a Quinn although I don't see her as often anymore. I think the current gp abuse is just game mechanics that he is abusing, not necessarily champ balance. Although his parrrlay and barrels do need to be higher cost/cd or something to that affect.

Riot---and their parrots here on the Boards---love to use buzzwords like "anti-fun" or "interactive" or "stat check"... well, what's less interactive, more anti-fun and a stat-check matchup than playing against a Gangplank. He may not be the most overpowered champion in the game, not even close, but in terms of laning against him... pass me that bleech.

He does have highest pick rate and winrate across all regions in high Elo though. . .

Should change it so he only gets the speed buff if the barrel explodes on a champion.

What are your thoughts on Grasp being equally as good then? And on him absolutely fucking dominating BOTH winrate and playrate?

Grasp has a slightly lower winrate, and about a 9% pickrate compared to kleptomancy being picked in about 80% of GP games. That's not what I would call 'being equally as good' Win and pickrate are high (note, they're higher in Korea than in EUW or NA) because the champion's too strong. Simple as that. Most of the champions he struggles with did not benefit from the preseason as much as he did. If he still proves to be too strong I'd like to see his Plunder passive nerfed, normalize his gold income.

Gangplank is obviously broken currently and it's not even because of klepto

People abuse grasp on him just as hard

He does way too much currently, something needs to be taken away.

I think his level 1 stats need to be hit and I mean HARD so his laning phase isn't so easy

Lol. The only way i ever play top lane is i pick either A: GP or B: some teamfight tank. And i just chill under my tower for 20 min or till my jungler comes.

Honestly tho, how do you enjoy playing the game, if all you do is just pussy back for 20 minutes? Do you find any enjoyment in being the most boring laner alive?

Im a jungle main so i dont really play lanes at all.

I honestly hate laning so i just chill at my tower and wait for lane phase to end more or less. Also..... its kind of funny to watch the enemy laner tilt off the face of the earth when you are 3/0/0 and still hugging your turret so that your jungler can come and gank them for the 18th time.
