Vayne damage should be tied to what makes her hard to play

People say she's so hard to play because she has to line up condemns for the stun.

The reality is she has 550 range and can attack move kite + tumble around team fights while doing percent max health true damage.

The condemn is just icing. Why not make condemn more important by tying vayne's damage to successful stuns.

the true damage isn't even relevant, it's the ult AD steroid, low cooldown positioning with tumble and the absolutely insane self peel that her condemn gives her that makes her insane.

Agreed.

I'm really tired of people thinking true damage is the problem, just because everyone's saying it. She can do 2000 physical damage within 2 seconds, and 500 true. Is that true damage really what's bugging you?

Fine, make it physical and triple the scaling, is that better?

I see true damage as a stat to be unhealthy in this game, because its only "counter" is health. Health may technically be a counter to true damage, but it serves the same purpose for every kind of damage which makes it irrelevant for this matter. For vayne specifically health honestly is not a counter to it because she does % max health as true damage.

I consider that to be a problem, if it was either flat value of true damage or % max health as physical damage, I think it would be fine.

It's just not that bad. Vayne can dish out thousands of damage, the 500 it's gonna do to you for proccing twice is simply not an issue when she crits for 600 every other hit. People just like to stack defensive stats and ignore counterplay, and true damage scares them.

They hate that having 6k HP + 400 armor will do nothing against a Fiora, if they don't bother defending their Vitals. They can't simply build tank and resist her effortlessly, it terrifies them that getting outskilled can eat through their defenses so fast. But that's their own problem.

Thats the thing though, with fiora you can counter it because of the condition for applying it. That is an option for legitimately countering/avoiding her true damage.

There is no choice like that against vayne, if she hits you it gets applied and thats that.

also some math: lets say she crits for 600 and vaynes normally don't build armor pen so we will assume she has none if her target has 100 armor, which is pretty reasonable for about mid game when vayne would be hitting for about that much. That means she will hit for 300, 150, 150 +(220 true damage)

This assumes that her target has 2000 hp and that she was lucky and got a crit on the first hit. Vayne normally doesn't build IE so she won't be crit-ing all that hard or often, that true damage ends up doing more than a crit would do, and if they have more health or armor the difference just becomes bigger.

Afaik vaynes build LW most of the time. .-.

Also, 220 true damage isn't that bad, Jinx's W would actually net much more.

I agree that attack speed Vayne is an issue (I hate BotrK and W maxing on her, it's abusing poor mechanics, like Yasuo E maxing) but proccing 1~2 passives and doing 500 damage late game isn't that bad.

Her free mobility, her safety in lane despite her short range, her sustained damage that exceeds the burst damage adcs, her invisibility (that gives the enemy minimal time to hit her in trades) and her self-peel/CC with Condemn is what makes her broken. A number of these must be tweaked, she can't be mobile, damaging, safe, high on utility and have good hard CC as well.

True Damage is ONE of the problems. Only one of them... sadly...

If you can auto attack successively 3 times in a team fight on one target the enemy team has really shitty positioning

or it means that vayne has good aim with the mouse and one of the enemy champions doesn't have the skillset to repeatedly dive in and out of a fight.

nobody says vayne is hard to play.
