I get you needed a Grand Master tier, but the lower tiers are the ones in need of more

Like I understand bronze, silver, gold have always been a threesome, but there really needs to be more levels there and not many higher ones. 90% of league players are there, not passed plat. In all honesty, most players in those ranks lose rank simply due to bad teams and bad mmr. I could be a gold 1, but 4 bronze and 1 gol vs 3 golds and 2 silvers isn't good mmr. That might be a bad example, but I see high levels players in those ranks all the time, not to even get into the whole smurfs playing and losing for people on purpose. And the worst part of it all is that when playing in in promos you won't get the better team. I don't know if it is just me, but any promos I've ever had it's been like my team is a bunch of bots purposely losing the games for us. More levels there means people won't be held back as much as they are by bad mmr....Hopefully.

The skill disparity in Diamond + is insanely huge. The high elo tier is very much needed. Just as the new lowest tier (iron) bronze has a plethora of players that are bottle necked and stuck... many of them are silver but arent quite good enough to solo carry themselves out, and many are much much worse then your typical bronze player.

The new tiers are based around where the bottlenecking is for the player base ie bronze, and diamond-master.

The skill disparity from gold - platinum is not that large.

Not to sound insulting, but I don't know, I just feel like most people in plat- diamond are meta abusive and aren't that skilled, but they know how to work around that with game play, while anyone in gold down to iron ranges from skilled to no skill, but are held back because lets face it, this game is and will always be the worst player on the team counts for the most.

And considering 90% of players are at least in gold or below, I feel like plenty of people there have a good chance to be skilled and rank up, but if someone on your team goes 0/5 in 2 minutes, which actually happens a lot in many games I've seen, you just don't get to rank up properly. So a wider range of tiers in the lower ranks would give people better mmr and less feeders. While in plat and above, you at least get semi competent patent teams.

You're correct bro, and what you are hoping for is exactly what Iron tier is designed to improve on. By adding a new floor, it will (Hope to) filter out the large inconsistency in teammates in bronze. This in-turn will trickle up to the ranks above it. It wont be huge, but it will be noticeable.

Fyi, a lot of plat and diamond players are meta abusers, you are also correct on that. However, thats another reason there is a large skill disparity... some diamonds are competent everywhere on the map, and some know 1 lane, and 1 champion only.

Skill mechanics are similar across the board. biggest difference in tiers is decision making and general game/ matchup knowledge.

I dont think they are ruling out the possibility of more tiers either. I could see like a copper tier or something maybe 2 seasons from now, but They arent going to change too much in one season like that. They caught too much flak already this year for their balance updates.
