this autofill whining is getting to be a bit much

stop bitching about autofill, and just play support sometimes.

support teaches you EVERYTHING important about this game regardless of WHAT champ you're playing.

  1. positioning

  2. mana conservation

  3. peel

  4. how to harass

  5. warding

  6. proper itemization for that situation.

seriously. autofill wouldn't be a problem with the playerbase if they weren't all crybabies who want to play "muh carry positions"

seriously, you crybabies. learn something other than mid, top, and jg. you might actually expand your knowledge on how to win in this game

"b-b-but in ranked people are getting autofilled to positions they don't know how to play and losing us games!"

well, i think thats more on the tardie boy who decides to play ranked without being proficient in ALL roles even if its just one champ per role

you guys have been bitching about being forced to support for months. give it a rest already. babies.

Back in season 5 you had to know all roles.

I was a jungle main with top/support secondary back then, but I still had 30 games on Ezreal and Sivir because - you had to know all roles.

100% agree!

Learn all the roles and stop crying already.

i think whining about people whining is getting annoying tbh.

100% with you on support though.

I had a jungler in my promo series go 1/9 with fiddlesticks. He was autofilled.

You can't just let people pick 2 roles for a year, and then say "just kidding, you'll have to play all roles".

It's not about not getting your role, it's about not getting your role in like 10 or 20% of your games which makes you lose because you barely play that role. Not to mention being autofilled to ADC is even worse.

The old system where you couldn't choose your role was fine, because you got to play all roles equally, as well as your opponents playing all roles equally. But now you are forced in a position you play once in 10 games, and matched up vs a person that plays all his games there.

yes you can. especially when you find out that 90% of the playerbase is a bunch of spergs who only want mid and top, therefore lengthening queue times.

you don't wanna lose because you barely play a role you got autofilled in?

there's this wonderful thing called normals, where you can practice all roles(and occasionally off meta bs). if you've been playing for over a year, there is absolutely 0 reason why you shouldn't know/be comfortable with every role.

Everyone knows how to play ADC for example,

But there is a difference between a guy with 500 ADC games at a diamond level, and a guy with 20 ADC games that got to diamond with his main role, but is barely a gold level ADC (which means he still can play the role).

If you want to know all matchups, you have to plays 100s of games in every role.

And no, knowing the basics of a role are not enough to win it in the higher ELO regions.

not everyone knows how to play ADC. It's surprisingly hard if you are used to top or jungle. The most successful ADC mains I know play support secondary.

I can't play ADC after being jungle and support for so long.

I am a support and I'm still complaining about autofill. Mad?

Wasn't the whole point of the new champion select so people can focus on picking 2 specific roles and being very good at those roles instead of playing 5 and being okay at them? Autofill completely contradicts the new champion select by making people autofill to a position that are awful in. Nobody wants to play a role they have no desire, no fun playing or just have no idea how to play the role effectively.

Honestly whenever I get autofilled I just end up dodging if no one wants to switch. I would much rather lose 3-10 LP and have a penalty than suffer through an unfun 20+ game where chances are I will lose because I have no interest in playing the role.

By the way all of the points you are trying to argue can be learned just as effectively in any other role (with the exception of jungle for some cases.) It's not just support that teaches you how to ward, itemize, harass, etc.
