Suggestion about the Sorcery Tree

Why not move Aery to the Inspiration Tree and give Sorcery a new Rune that would take it's place.

I mean from what I can tell people really miss Deathfire Touch (even if Aery is suppose to be the alternative of it).

Because as of right now Mages don't exactly have great rune options...

  • Comet for poke.
  • Aery for low consistant damage (even if this rune was made for Enchanters specifically)
  • Phase Rush isn't a good option for most mages, it is used by a minory champions.

I imagine if this would happen, scortch would have to be replaced as well.

I'd like this, though the challenge, as mentioned by some Rioters in the past, would be to make the rune more interactive than it was before. Whereas Thunderlord's/Electrocute requires the player to engage in at least some gameplay by landing three consecutive hits, Scorch/DFT basically just adds extra damage over time, without much else required. Personally, my own solution to this would be to give the effect a cooldown, like Scorch, but have hits reset the DoT's duration while it is still ongoing (and actual hits, rather than extra DoT ticks, if the game can recognize the difference internally): that way, there would be meaningful gameplay to optimize the effect (i.e. keep pressuring the enemy without interruption), meaningful counterplay (i.e. back out in time for the DoT to run out), and a better fit for a niche of champions that haven't really been served well by Runes Reforged, namely battle mages.

Let's not move mage runes OUT of sorcery. We need to move non-mage runes out instead. Phase Rush, Water Walking, and even Celerity should be shoved out into Domination or even Inspiration (there's already good stuff in Inspiration and Domination that compliments them), and instead replaced with something that fits Sorcery better.

Aery isn't really a Mage rune, at release it was targetted more towards Enchanters or any mages who have shields like Oriana.

As for the runes you mentioned below I agree.

Enchanters are a subset of Mage. Why shouldn't a rune for them be in the Mage tree?

Damage runes don't belong in the inspiration tree that's kinda of the point of that tree. That being said -- there's nothing wrong with simply adding a fourth rune like deathfire touch. High chance that with the new Liandris -- it becomes completely busted for certain champions though so there's that.

That is a rather good point.
