I feel like I still have a lot to learn because I'm still pretty new, but I'm maining support, just finished my very first provisonals. I was told the dreaded "elo hell" was in bronze, but what surprised me the most is the fact that I placed lowest silver. I know its not really that great, but at least I placed way higher then I anticipated. my ultimate goal right now is to reach anything in gold by the end of 2018.

wish me luck, wish to challenge you all on the rift someday!

Edit: ACTUALLY I READ THE ROMAN NUMERALS WRONG. I PLACED SILVER 4 :DDD

congrats and good luck mate :D you will redo these placements again once the new season starts; so you have enough time to figure out which strategy works best for you. as a support main myself(silver 1 in season 5); i was placed in silver 4 last season and it all went smooth , but silver 2 was the hardest to get out of on my way to gold.

I figured that mmr reset thing, but I decided to start now to benchmark where I'm currently at. I honestly didn't expect to place any higher then bronze 4

Hey, if you ever have a question about a playstyle or just want help with something, feel free to add/msg me (IGN: Weathered). I'm a Platinum player who's been around since season 4, I don't really get enough chances to help people out.

Congrats, but last year the same thing happened to me and I fell down to bronze 3. Then I climb out and after a year and a half, I'm in gold.

High risk to go down first, then you'll climb up. Of course, depends how you play, and by that I mean how you approach your own game when starting one.

its difficult to be placed in anything below silver starting out tbh. But goodluck, it takes about 5-10 losses (somewhere around there) to drop from silver 5 to bronze 1. Its really easy to climb up to at least gold if you go with a play maker support or a faceroll one like sona or soraka. Good luck, dont rage when you get aids for adc's.

I think it takes more if you have a high mmr (since usually when starting out after placements, you start out with a high mmr). Your mmr should reach about b4 to b5 to be able to get demoted from silver 5. This is honestly from experience from being demoted so many times from d5 lol. I usually was winning about 13 after I got demoted.

Sorry i got the roman numerals wrong, i actually placed silver 4. Was wondering, how many games losses it take to fall?

Gj getting to silver in your first placement :). I think diamond 5 is where the real elo hell is at but that's my personal opinion. Also, looking at ranked elo as a side product of how well you are doing in every game is a good way to climb.
