@Rito: Fiddles still sucks

I mean, Tanklesticks is actually more viable at the moment then AP. Hell, I would even argue that his evil stepbrother Crittlesticks overshadows him at the moment, but that's a different story.

So many nerfs to a champion with so much counterplay already has really put him behind.

There really ins't much counterplay to Fiddle. Besides that, he's seen nothing but buffs for the last few patches.

If you don't think there's much counterplay to Fiddle, you're probably the type of guy that goes 1-7 with Dr. Mundo.

TheHappyReaperz1 votes

Alright, what would you say his counterplay is?

vOmvbrawfU2 votes

summoner 14 summoner 1 item 2055 item 3340 item 3363 item 3222 tenacity, any champion with any kind of displacement/stun.

"a positive or aggressive action by the defending side" That's what the definition of counterplay is. Everything you can do to Fiddle is reactionary. Therefore, it isn't counterplay.

vOmvbrawfU1 votes

Warding isn't a reaction. Diving Fiddles and CCing him isn't a reaction.

Hence the little amount of counterplay that Fiddle has.

mercury treads is good counterplay to the fearitem 3111 . I think if you are countering him top you want a hexdrinker or spectre's cowl item 3155 item 3211 to go with the boots. I'd add health after the hexdrinker like black cleaver item 3071 or whatever fit's your build where you can sneak in health. The tank top would turn the cowl into one of the finished mr items or choose another completed MR item and then add health. Mid i'd add the abyssal sceptre item 3001 early first finished item, very likely starting with the negatron rather than the codex. Also mid you can either do giant's belt item 1011 into Rylai's item 3116 and/or just an early haunting guise item 3136 as ways to build early health to be tanky yet turn them into legitimate dmg items. Bot lane i'd buy a hexdrinker as a later game item turn it into maw of malmortius item 3156. Would be nice if your support had a mikaels item 3222 and/or quick fingers on an exhaust summoner 3. If you were really having issues perhaps you could get your own QSS item 3140 and turn it into item 3137 item 3139 though that might take you off build. Another build item option for support is to get item 3069 and try to run your team out of the ult.

Those are champ build ideas to counter; but as for countering in champ select, you want displacement (knock the ulted fiddle away from your team). Janna ult, Lee sin ult, Vayne condemn, azir ult, poppy ult, alastar is good his headbutt and pulverize, sivir's movespeed ult (to run the team away), ect.

Ward and keep track of where he is so he can't ult you from out of vision. If he channels within vision, you can either run away or CC him.

Sooo many people don't understand about keep track of the enemy jungle it makes my head hurt. I get asked all the time why am I pinging there top jungle...... well dude the jungle just ran past mid there watch for the gank..... oh thanks man...

vOmvbrawfU1 votes

No, it's more like you ping your top laner 3 times caution because you saw their jg heading there and your top has 0 wards anywhere. Your top laner tries to all in the enemy top laner. Your top laner dies. "wtf jg no gank"

EstebanElGuapo1 votes

i prefer as the other dude mentioned to ping the location of the threat rather than your ally who is threatened. Like ping where you believe the enemy jungler is and is coming from rather than the toplaner. He may take it as concern for the toplane 1v1 he opted himself into and usually you are harmed by trying to pull yourself out of an all in and he may be thinking I have this why someone telling me I don't. But if he sees the pings in the jungle then he knows more what the warning is. It isn't concern for his 1v1 its a concern it is about to become a 2v1.

50000000000000003 votes

Oh yeah, that too. Just keep track of the enemy in general. But I mean the warding counters Fiddle more than many other junglers because his only gapcloser is channeled (well, technically his passive too, but you can't use it if you're seen).

Hell, to add on: if you have displacement you can even make his ult useless if you're not the one he feared/silenced first.

He ults into the middle of the team! Surprise Alistar Headbutts him back into the Jungle immediately!

And now Fiddles is 100% useless for that fight and accomplished nothing.

I know but people still cry and say there is no counterplay.

item 2055 item 3340 counters him the most.

Tanklesticks and Crittlesticks, are not better in any way, shape or form than Fiddlesticks. Have you seen the ult scaling? He can single handedly obliterate an entire team with his ult. You don't see Tanklesticks and Crittlesticks doing that. Even if he ults 1 person, that person if not a tank or a tanky fighter is sure to die. With his incredible ult scaling and base damage he can on top of that fear you for 2.25 sec and if you think you can just flash away, good luck he will silence you for 1.25 sec. Not to mention he can increase his ult range by just hopping over a huge wall. If you think you can 1v1 him without 2 cc abilites or 1 long cc ability good luck, he will just drain hp from you and actually start to heal more than you deal damage to him in the early-mid (mid game only on some champs) game, think a ignite will counter that? nope he will just fear you and just run away with his passive movement speed boost. Now you might be thinking 3.5 sec of ult is not that bad? Well it does count 1-2-3.5, it goes like this, 0-1-2-3.5. Start counting Irl seconds 1-2-3 then try starting from a 0 and then see how long it really is. Now i'm not going to go in on how to play fiddle or use his ult with item 3157 or should you even use item 3157 in some situations. I assume you had some bad fiddlesticks players in your team or the enemy and I feel sorry for you that you ran in to some bad players but if you EVER play against a good fiddlesticks player, you will see how op and broken he really is. I'm speaking from experience with him and against a good fiddle player. Fiddlesticks can carry super hard when ahead. Imagine a fed yasuo, ever had that? he just start chunking you down with each auto 1/4 of your hp? Imagine someone doing that on your entire team at once.

Oh look, I spotted someone that doesn't play Fiddles.

I have some fun with both ap fid and tank fid and mixed both. The tank fid would be more similar to a true support fid. (not a secondary ap) kind of a tanky cc-bot with max cdr.
