There you have it, the most common comparison of them all. Sona vs. the champ that **LITERALLY **replaced her in the meta, after the Support Class Update in patch 3.14.
's damage is applied instantly (provided she has her 3 spells used before) All she has to do is Q-Auto and that damage is instantly taken without any counterplay besides for "Don't get close to her" which is always a stupid argument imo.
can do more damage overall but she can miss some of her abilities...Well mainly Q since even though her ult is technically a skill shot, it's not really something that you'd miss but it can be dodged with flash or mobility though at least. Then there is her E which while it can't be dodged, it's still reliant on auto attacks so its not as instant as Q-Auto.
