RFC offers several choices with one passive:

Poke
Increased Burst Frequency
Range
Safety

As an ADC main, I agree. RFC needs changes and building it with shiv every game is so common. Perhaps splitting its passive to a different zeal item would be better but for a class that gets so much peel, help, and sustain - RFC offers quite the variety of options.

I do wish ADCs did have more build diversity than requiring shiv+RFC every game.

As i said in another post he is well behind the rest of us woth this assesment.

Any botlane player could have told you this last season when they changed cait passive/runnans and the rfc shiv buold became more popular.

Do i agree with what he says, yes but talk about not seeing wood because of the trees

No - this has been a recurring dilemma stated by the player base. Boards post have frequently targeted the RFC+Shiv combo. Though shiv offers burst, RFC offers that burst at too safe of a range.

most zeal items offer marksmen a bunch of stuff to overly compensate weaknesses in their kits or enhance their already incredibly powerful strengths to an even greater degree.

item 3087 gives burst, magic damage, and waveclear which is something most adcs lack a mixture of for various reasons

item 3085 fundamentally breaks adc's being balanced around single target damage and also adds waveclear

item 3094 as scarra said, gives them more range when range is already such an incredibly powerful stat in the game. they can out poke a lot of mages with this item as they cannot miss their autos and the shiv damage just hurts like hell when coupled with this item. they also heal more with fleet footwork to add insult to injury.

item 3046 hasn't been a huge issue lately due to the other zeal items and a bursty meta but it can feel like a giant middle finger to the champions who need to kill a marksman if they buy this as the adc didn't really have to go out of their way to itemize against them and this item doesn't offer real windows of strong defensive power as other 'offensively defensive' items typically do/should ( item 3814 item 3139 item 3102 0
