jw why do people ban nothing in champ select, especially ranked?

like what's the reasoning behind that? they could just ask "any pref bans?" instead of wasting a ban. i genuinely can't stand people who don't ban anything.

I do it in draft because I want to practice against hard matchups and OP-tier champs in norms.

In ranked yeah it makes no sense. The only reason it would exist is when there's "too many bans" and you don't want to ban something you might pick, but with this many champs in the game, that probably won't happen

cuz they can. no other reason. every one gets a "ban" and can choose to ban anything or nothing. you cant control what others do and dont do. just dont let it effect you

Because no champion in this game is extremely overpowered and there are no such thing as counterpicks , a riot balance member even said it themselves "we don`t believe in counterpicks"

step 1. enter pick intent step 2. hover you ban for 30 seconds, ban it. step 3. <-insert person who flames you for banning their champ, when they didn't chose anything in pick intent, or say anything while you hovered-> step 4. lose said game

Maybe they want to practice against as many champions as possible? You can't practice against a high banned champion.

Since,

banning is no longer an act of strategy and it is no longer possible to pinch out a specific type of pick (remove assassins, remove hypercarry, etc) and many people are not specifically annoyed at any specific champion,

than they can just not ban?

I don't ban in flex queue cuz this games been so fkin volatile this season that I consider them getting the OP shit to be research for what I need to ban in solo q. Its hard to keep up with whats currently broken in this patch without. Also bans are kinda pointless when there's so much shit thats broken that you're literally just guessing at which broken shit they're gonna try to play.
