It drops everyone's rank a lot, but MMR usually stays the same.

A Doorknob1 votesI don't think it matters tbh. Those stats are probably bronze, but at the end of the day, he shouldn't be bronze 5. He can stay in bronze but no at the lowest rank.
Personally I hate the MMR system. Because Riot believes all people should climb to their rightful ranks and so they place em in ranks that they do not necessarily belong. because the argument goes: "If you belong in a higher elo than you can climb" Well the counter argument can also be made "If you're not in your proper rank then you will fall." If you do good in your promos, you shouldn't be punished with the lowest of lows of elo. Sure the guy can stay bronze, but with those promo stats he should be at least b2 or b1. If he doesn't belong he will fall back to b5.

now if the was DIAMOND 1 and got placed bronze then there is a big issue ...

If I were to land b5, I'd be asking why the fuck did I even do promos when I could have just started climbing straight from the get-go. He typically stood no chance to even get his previous score because of the "soft reset." So he wins 8 games, with 8 games he could of easily gotten in b4 by now, his previous score.

lol we are talking 25 mmr ... if he didnt tank his mmr the last month n half ... he would of most likely got bronze 1/silver 5 but he goes from mid bronze 3 to bronze 5 in about 5 weeks and does promos playing players who are unranked, bronze 4 or 5 ... he is where he should be
A Doorknob2 votesPromos are used to place yourself. If he wins 8-2 and lands b5 I can understand his anger, he literally wasted his time when he could of spent it actually climbing. I previously stated he should remain in bronze, but with those stats he should of at least climbed and not fallen. If he truly did not deserve the rank he was given so for instance, Bronze 2, if he didn't belong in bronze 2 then he would've fallen back in to place. The issue at hand is he wasted his time trying to place himself. If you have 0% chance of ranking anything higher than b5, why do even do promos? Those people might as well begin simply just attempting to climb the ladder instead.

His rank was already given to him before promos and he had 0% chance of climbing in completion of promos. So the question is, why did he do promos? What purpose does he have in doing promos if he's already ranked b5 even if he wins 10-0?

I honestly thought I'd be able to make Silver 5 with how well I did. But Riot doesn't let people do better than they previously have even if they practice and get better! I should have just started the season in B5 then I'd be B3 by now with all the time I wasted!

you trashed your mmr and elo prior to the reset ... if you look at the image i provided it would show that... so how bad your mmr was... it takes a while to get it UP to gain rank. but when its in the dumpster... well
i understand your frustrations. im not discrediting it... but you werent playing silvers. or even high bronze players in your placements. that is why you got put where you did. if you continue you to do as well as you did in your placements you will climb fast. best of luck
