Runes Cost Too much
Could we like, cut the cost of runes by 75%?

Considering that Runes give you an ingame advantage, I never understood why they cost IP in the first place. Riot treats runes like LoL is an MMORPG where you built up your existance before going into battle, but it's a MOBA. Everyone starts at Lvl.1 and should be given the same opportunity to build up their own runepage with provided runes like everyone else. In a game where you need to UNLOCK characters to play them, it really shouldn't be mandatory to buy stat enhancements, too. This is just an unnecessary trap for new players that prefer getting a new character to try out over essential runes that will win you the game.
As it stands right now, runes are far too important ingame to be a Pay 2 Unlock feature. Honestly, try winning a Lvl.30 match without runes, it's insanely difficult as anything that isn't a Support.
ALLLLL of this! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Or just make them free [zombie-brand-clap]

shh that's the next "wah runes cost too much fake money" thread
Fake money? Wait, but all of your money is fake. IT's not like your bank notes are cast gold.
By the way, since your 'fake money' cost real time to acquire, I fail to see a point in your inane writing.
Here is an idea if the runes actually are too expensive for the new players: Make a rune starter bundle that can be bought with RP or IP. Of course the IP cost would actually be like half the amount it would normally cost if bought separately. It could include the most basic runes:
flat armor yellows, flat AD reds, flat MR/AP blues, flat AP/AD quints.
They could even divide the starter pack into 2: one for basic AD runes and another for the basic AP runes (health yellows instead of armor, magic pen reds instead of AD)
or.. [slayer-jinx-unamused] not.
EDIT: here is another idea: remove T2 runes. They are a trap for the new guys.

They already halved the price in IP of the basic tier 3 runes (AD marks, magic pen marks, armor seals, MR glyphs, etc...).
They are 1 ip now...?

Or remove T1 and T2 runes... I tried buying them when I first started and I didn't have a completed rune set until I just unlocked T3s anyway. Then a friend told me to not even buy any runes until I could buy T3s.
Hey, moron cool kid, nobody needs help figuring out who you're replying to, STOP QUOTING ENTIRE FRIGGIN' COMMENTS AND MAKING AN EYESORE FOR EVERYONE ELSE!
triggered much?
The reasons runes cost so much is because you have to decide between getting new champs or having a slightly stronger in game, they already lowered t2 runes
So basically you have to decide between being at a disadvantage or playing the same champions over and over again? Seems pretty logical to me
yes, they want you to play champs over and over again so you can get better at them, its like 8 games (if you win) to get a quint
8 games to get a quint? What world are you in where you win 150+ a game?
the world of ip boosts
So your solution is Runes cost too much money, so spend money to get runes easier? [zombie-brand-mindblown]
Runes don't cost money tho
he's talking about buying ip boosts (with money) so you can get ip faster to buy runes
No shit.
Runes cost time to get which equals money.
Of course if I get 150 IP per hour of gameplay and I earn 15$ per hour on job, it's way easier to just buy them with cash.
Which is EXACTLY what the system is supposed to do: promote cash sales.
WTF? They want you to spend IP on runes to force you to buy champs with RP, but this whole system is so toxic for the gameplay.
It got worse since the chinese bought Riot.
Rune pages too. Not entirely sure why we have to buy rune pages anyway.
And they cost the same as a new champion like, okay so i can either increase my champ pool or get a blank page i need to spend MORe ip into :/

ths post just goes to show that the league community is fucking stupid as fuck and needs shit simplified immensely to get behind it.
i did a post with all of the math shown on how much runes cost in IP in relativity to real dollars.
gets downvoted to obscurity.
this fucking guy just says 10 words, and gets 40+ upvotes.
congrats riot community. you're all a bunch of idiots.

Well you're just an angry little man aren't you? You gotta chill bro.
This is the 30th thread I've seen on this but for some reason 0 rioters have ever commented on them.
Cuz they know they're wrong. As in, the literal only reason is because they would lose a lot of money. So Riot as a company won't be changing this ever. And because of that, the Rioters that post on the board can't say that they'll be changing it because they don't have the authority to. And if any Rioter posted "Sorry but this company makes lots of money off runes costing IP" then there would be such a shitstorm of angry players. Staying silent is the only move they can do honestly.
Runes and Rune pages are massive IP sinks which forces people to buy rp, Riot does not want to decrease profits. There have been hundreds of threads with massive upvotes back in old forums and nothing changed
This would make Riot lose money on champion sales and Ip sales. Don't hold your breath.
Runes are so extremely cheap, I don't even know where all the complaints come from. If you play casually, maybe 1-2 games a day, you should have enough IP to get rune pages for every role by the time you hit Lv30. Before runes aren't worth the IP anyways. At the same time you have enough IP to unlock a few champions for yoursef. Obviously not all, but if you want to get better at specific roles or champs you shouldn't own all champions anyways.
Either have more sales, cut the price by at least 25%, or what one guy in the comments said, have a starter rune bundle.
On the one hand, It would be nice if the game was kinder to new players.
On the other hand, I have at least 6 unique rune pages, and 14 rune pages that are situational iterations of them that I earned purely from IP so I don't think it's fair that other people don't have to spend months and months grinding IP like I had to.
