Is 5.13 gonna make us or break us?

I'll be brief with my thoughts: The new changes are scary, plentiful, and definitely have room to make mid lane mages (or just mages in general) WAY stronger than intended. HOWEVER, these changes give us a lot of room for item diversity by decreasing the power of Large Rod items while increasing the power of the more situational/utility items. Even Spirit Visage makes HEALING OTHERS 20% stronger as well as healing yourself, which can be a pretty cool buff to Sona/Soraka/Janna...even Lulu's ult, even. So as much as we see a ton of complaints about not listening to the players here, it seems like they're going in balls deep...like straight up fisting (get it, cause Riot's logo is a fist? I'll leave after this...) the topic of item diversity, starting with mid lane. Still, with that said, there's...almost too much room for balancing to go way too awry.

Thoughts? Votes? Please do share. Keeping the topic to the items, though.

Lulus ult isn't a heal honey. Don't think lulus ult will work. And mid mages aren't gonna even be that affected its the top mages vlad and rumble that you gotta look out for.these changes are barely gonna affect lulu lux xerath and ziggs and ahri.. Zyra will be a little happier but honestly its not gonna do much for most mid mages. It's just gonna force everyone to rush a deathcap

Someone like Ahri and Ziggs could build Rylai's and have a 40% slow on all their spells that don't already slow (most of them), making escape extremely difficult. The 40% slow for all single/multi-target moves, and only DoT gets 20%. So Ahri's Q, W, and R all get 40% slows if she picks that path (not sure about Ziggs, but his HUGE ult gets a slow for everyone it hits...at 40%). I think that's a powerful option to play with, especially now that Luden's has the same AP as Rylai's. That's some strong cc and some big aoe's to apply it to.

As for Lulu's ult, I think you're right. It's just bonus health, so the "healing" just goes with the increased health, rather than an actual heal.

Honestly, I have no idea.

It seems to me like they just upped the AP of everything (being mildly facetious here) to make the other options look as good as the NLR items.

I can see some people having success with more "diverse" item builds, but I can also see people just going with the NLR build path and still doing just as well.

Suppose we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Are you sure the changes to Spirit Visage include Healing to others? The notes seem ambiguous.

Just pushing that healer synergy a little harder. When picking up a Spirit Visage, your thought process can now be "Do I have a great healer?" in addition to, "Do I have great self-healing!?" We're not sure why the second question has an exclamation point.

This doesn't really apply to outgoing healing, but rather incoming healing.

This description would make sense if it now increased the Healing that others give to you (teammates) which means it would be a good pickup if you had a Soraka on your team. The Quoted section implies this, but 20% increase to all healing means much more than just others giving it to you.

Soraka heals a lot more than Sona or Nami, so I guess that might make sense why the top description says that, still the language is ambiguous. Probably just have to see if it works both ways (others giving it to you and giving it to others)

No, it doesn't increase outgoing healing at all. Only change is that now it affects all incoming healing instead of only healing sourced from you.

That is my line of thinking, but a lot of people are thinking it goes both ways because "20% increased healing" is very vague. The change just means that if you have a healer on your team, there is more incentive to buy Visage. It's not really a buff to Soraka really, because people will forget, rather have BV, or just not get MR at all (ADCs)

So it's nice, but not really game breaking as people are thinking.

Seems like their doing a mother load of testing at the moment. Cause they have laid out a lot of different changes at once. They're probably going to be working the clock compiling player data from the current patch, and attempt to smooth out the issues with said changes.

Considering what patch 4.10 did to the ADC's. (aka, flop the champion viability) I wouldn't be surprised if the mid lane meta shifted. towards other, less popular champs. (The buffs to Nashor's tooth and Liandry's is a big buff to Teemo) The Tear, RoA combo is also going to be more powerful.

The Buff to Spirit Visage will be a buff to supports in the Tank meta. Though I wouldn't say it enforces the tank meta, partially because it's already starting to wane.

Don't know how Stated Devourer will hold up in the meta, Considering the need to have Active Junglers who gank often. Though I could imagine it being a nightmare in YoloQ.
