Here's a thought: What if when you buy Mikael's Crucible, it starts on CD?

Back when Promote was available as a Summoner Spell, you couldn't use it for the first 5 minutes of a match due to 5-Promote cheese strats.

Presently, Mikael's Crucible makes it really hard for Ashe or Varus to be usable, as their ults will get purged easily. To give them some leeway, I think that when a player finishes constructing a Mikael's Crucible, it should start off on cooldown.

This is just my opinion, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Well the thing about Mikaels is it doesnt really offer good stats for its price. It use to be a lot better, but right now its stats a pretty lacking compared to other items that are good on supports. So yes it does screw up Ashe and Varus but they are losing out on a lot of much needed stats.

So think of it this way: Ok they Mikael's Crucibled my ult, but its on a 3 minute cool down and now they have a pretty worthless 2500 item so i should win the next trade.

What if they capitalized on your ult failure, killed you, and took your turret? Happens more than you think.

One of the things about active items is that when you run out of item slots you can"refresh" your active by selling and buying the item with your extra gold (I think, if not you can switch to an item with a different active and go back and forth). This would remove that ability. actives should be immediately available, otherwise long cooldown actives become considerably less attractive.
