Question About Janna PBE Q Change

Janna's Q currently has some tentative changes on the PBE. These changes indicate that for each second it charges, it now travels 35% further rather than 20% further. It seems strange to me that Janna is getting buffed, and this sounds like a buff without any more info. Is this buff intended to somewhat offset the nerf on the scaling on her R, or is the initial travel range on Q nerfed but this simply isn't indicated on the tooltip? My assumption is kind of that the total travel range at full charge is the same, but Q travels less far if it isn't fully charged, but I haven't seen any discussion about this.

Yeah, your guess is right. Janna's initial Q cast range is nerfed on the PBE, but the gain over time's increased so that the range at full charge is the same.

The real reason Janna is being nerfed: World Finals.

Janna negates flashy plays from happening in more ways than one, plus she's overall not very exciting to watch. Can't have that, so make sure the pros won't pick her through unnecessary nerfs.

The way it is worded, to me it means you get a higher maximum range, 2255 instead of 1760, which equals a buff of 28.125%. But since I have no PBE access, I can't test it out either.

how much shorter is the range now? kinda sad this fierce tornado comes off as more of a sneeze these days

This is really really frustrating. PLEASEEE dont go through with these changes. basically EVERYTHING janna has is a shell of her former self. she was the first champion who i fell in love with like 6-7 years ago and ive watched: -damage on her tornado reduced by probably 75% -Ult range decreased, and the heal nerfed. -Ult would slow champions after knocking them back -she didnt lose zephyr passive after cast (not sure about this one) -shield duration nerfed. -passive gutted, then became somewhat glorious with the movespeed bonus in range. and now gutted. -new voiceover -new splash arts, i loved the mysterious nicole kidman look she had going on. now she just looks like a slutty teenager.

Janna needs new mechanics thats for sure. Give her invulnerabilty while channeling her ult, or let her cast it at target location kinda like a fiddlesticks ult but with NO cast time. this way she can peel better and doesnt have to walk up or outrun certain champions for knockback/peel plays.

i would also love if zephyrs cast range be increased since the damage is laughable. getting so close to harass while being squishy af is scary.
