I'd like a word with the engineers who designed the towers on SR...

For structures that are meant to be protecting a vital objective (the Nexus) they sure are squishy. Towers are falling as early as 6 minutes into the game, and it's really enhancing the extreme snowball effect that the season 8 rune changes added to the game.

Before, when towers were a bit more like stone and a bit less like rice paper, a team that fell behind had a little breathing room to regroup, focus up, and try to mitigate the damage by farming themselves back into the game. Losing a tower too early makes that extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Champions with midgame/lategame powerspikes may lose out on the opportunity to hit those powerspikes and fight their way back into the game, because they lose the map control necessary to farm and actually reach those powerspikes while they are still relevant to the outcome of the game. Champions with early game powerspikes gain far more from these early towers than other champions, meaning that it's much harder to defend against them now than it has been in the past.

Being able to come back from a losing game used to be about the players who are behind mitigating their losses and waiting for an opportunity to turn the game around. The current situation is similar, but seems to be weighted far more heavily on the team that's ahead. Unless the winning team makes some serious and I mean SERIOUS mistakes, victory is all but guaranteed, because the early gold lead they get from that first tower and the map pressure that comes with it just builds on itself.

Very few games are not snowballed out of control by one team or the other, and the team getting stomped has such a narrow window of opportunity to make a comeback that even the most skilled players have a difficult time hitting the mark, let alone people in Bronze / Silver (90% of the playerbase, and Riot's cash cow).

Nobody misses the League of Warmog's that's a given, but the polar opposite (League of Duty?) isn't any better. I feel like Riot needs to find a comfortable middle ground, allowing for teams to snowball early leads into victory, but also giving more room for counterplay to the team that's behind, to make the game feel more skill-based and less like a game of mmr roulette.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Literally Heimerdinger needs to talk to Riot, about their outdated tower defences.
