I think you should have to play him before making those kinds of statements.
he is very strong in lane like darius and should definitely be respected but he does have his counters ... quite a lot tbh lol

Singed destroys this match up. Not many hard counters in this game but Singed wins this everytime.
You sound like you just got destroyed in game and are blaming it on champion kit. Maybe the player was better than you. Maybe you have zero comprehension about how the champ works.
So far the only argument here is "pick x and win!" when that is perhaps the dumbest argument in the history of ever. Why should I have to pick someone specific to beat him? This is league of legends not rock paper scissors

Coming patch 10.5. not sure how much of a difference it will make.

Didn't Riot specifically say they want to create dynamic interaction with Champions?
Where you didn't have to rely or worry about counters making or breaking a lane?

Yes he is strong but he has counter play. You have to play the poke game and dodge his W.
Darius has counter play while sett doesnt? side step the true damage unlike darius Q which his E sets up a garenteed hit his E gives more damage by ignoring your defense and his bleed gives more damage by both stacking and giving extra ad.
sett is actually super easy to beat i have won 99% of match ups with him with 
teemo on the other hand i lose 99% of matched because he just zones me out and i cant do anything about it

"Lacks the counterplay darius has." Sett wont win lane if u dodge his w. Darius meanwhile can still win lane by not hitting his q and autoing to death.
sett is the best champion ever made now I can punch ppl like alway wanted to do during my highschool feels good man.
He is fun but his future has to be that of a pure Tank with nerfs to damage. His engage is too good because it last forever with him fighting and cc'ing the other team repeatedly. Because of all the effective tank from the cc on his R and E and the big W shield he can innately survive too well to do much base damage. But he is balanceable unlike Aatrox. His gameplay identity is a diving, sticky tank, he can't kill everyone too. If he wants to do damage he should have to build it, at a real sacrifice to his survivability.

IMO, his W shouldn't have a base damage and scale purely with how much grit is expended when using it. If he doesn't take damage, he can't use it at all.

Kled, Tryndamere, Renekton are all characters who can lane against him just fine. So can Darius for that matter.
Sett also is one of the worst scaling juggernauts. He falls off harder than a prom dress by lv13+, juggernauts like Garen start to massively outscale him.
You can even play something like Nasus and scale up, and Cho'gath has an easy time peeling him off while outscaling him.
Illaoi also does well into Sett post-6 if she didn't int her face off until then.
Alternatively, you can use what brain cells you have left to buy a bramble vest as you should against any champ with healing as an integral part of their kit.
Sett's main asset is bombing a tank into the enemy backline and landing a multitarget stun E while soaking damage, but he's nowhere near as good as cleaning up fights as Darius, isolating targets like Morde, or diving a backline like Renekton/Riven/Jax/Kled.
Did you just say darius has counterplay compared to sett? What? Darius is WAY more opressive, and setts main dmg early is his w turnaround. If you facetank his true dmg, then thats on you, but you honestly think hes more op than darius? lmao. Oh also, garen and mundo have basically the same hp regen, dont try to say sett is unique on that
People who want any champion to be gutted should not be talking about balance in the slightest.
Quite sadly, just kite Sett. It isn't hard for anyone to do now a days and his abilities are obvious enough to realize how they're going to be used.
sett can also have a pretty hard time with yorrick if he plays his hand right..
its all about being in the right place at the right time
