What are your off meta picks/builds that you had fun with and that can work?

I feel like one of the biggest flaws of League is the lack of variety of builds and lanes that a class can fit into,so its fun trying to figure stuff out that can actually kinda work without being meta.

So like the title asks,what off meta picks/builds did you try and made to work?

For instance i sometimes play Swain bot in normals and usually stomp lane,especially lvl 6 when you get an ultimate that gives you HP,heals you and deals damage,most marksmen cant outdeal my sustain at that point.

Other builds include Bruiser Marksmen,like Trinity Force,Black Cleaver,Guinsoo,Botrk,Runans Varus or a similar build for Lucian,believe it or not just a week ago i wont like 4-5 games in a row with that Varus build,and it was a nice change of pace,so many times an enemy died cause he tried to dive me and couldn't finish the job.

So,any other suggestions?

It's real fun when it works, but just as with most non-meta builds is unreliable. I'm sure in good hands it could be a lot better than when I'm using it though, I'm a melee top lane main.

You really CAN'T anymore. For a long while you could. AP Tristana, AP Shaco, AP Xin Zhao, Duo mage bot lanes, off-meta junglers, Soraka and Sona mid, all that fun shit... you could do it.

But not now man... any build that was off-meta but could work got nerfed into the ground like AP Trynd... or just died due to the meta pushing everything but the most efficient champs/builds into the dumpster.
