I get this all the time playing Orianna and Karthus, usually against AD assassins. Where I can safely stay under my turret, yet still destroy waves and poke them back.
It's like they expect you to get poked once and then 100-0'd.
Hey, if you get that response, you're doing something right. That means they'll likely keep making the same play over and over just to insult you (while you're busy winning the game). I don't do the insulting part, but as someone that constantly craves a good 1 v 1, I fall prey to a greedy dive every now and then.

Then Juggernauts and turret changes happened.
Top lane has not been anywhere near as enjoyable since then.

Unless you are giving up obvious free kills or letting your teamtes die, playing safe is almost always a better strat.
