Why does Aurelion's passive execute minions at 25 health?

I don't understand why it execute minions below 25 life. I mean, it does more than 25 damage the instant you put a point in W. So the minions it executes would be dead anyway. What am I missing?

edit: Clarification from a Rioter would be very nice!

I think it's factored in after the damage. I could be wrong, but if a star hits them and they only have 10 hp left, I think it just finishes the job. That's the way I've been understanding it.

edit: But Teridax68 says it does not work that way. This is a huge mystery!

I kind of wonder if it isn't some relic from an earlier build that didn't get removed since it's hard to notice something that does literally nothing when checking internal logs.

Bizarrely, it doesn't seem to execute minions post-damage. The execute looks like it's just a baseline effect for Aurelions pre-level 3 with minimal AP.

It feels kind of lame if it's only to help level 1 farming if you don't start with W (level 2 is already more than 25 damage).

Mostly because it can give him a tough and troll level 1 because of it accidentally not killing minions, then the caster minions take it

Hah, that IS a strange interaction but I'd rather have the safety net there and not need it than find out I'm having hella trouble farming with him and wait for a patch.
