Games Feel Terrible: Short & Less Strategic

They end almost immediately and there's never a late game anymore (there barely was before it too). I don't know how this season can be advertised as offering more comebacks when all the changes compress game time. The strategic element seems reduced more and more each season. It's sad to see. It's about who got a lucky early game (yes, a lot of early game leads are mostly off the roll of a dice where it could go either way) rather than outmaneuvering or out-thinking opponents. Maybe it's just how preseason is but I feel like the game's becoming more and more about tactics at the expense of long-term thinking and planning.

8.23 did improve the game dramatically but we still not there yet. Games are still mostly a gamble. I've started treating it as such. The very first thing I do every game now is try to assess which team is going to feed, while avoiding feeding myself in case it's the enemy team. But if my team starts hard feeding, I stop playing seriously and may even watch a YouTube video or something while the game is going on as I know it's a loss no matter what I do, and I know there will always be two assholes that won't surrender. I find this approach make it tolerable. You just have to accept that most games, you will get hard feeders and there's nothing you can do about it and don't stress over it.

Also, I define hard feeding as your team feeding on average, a kill every minute. So if at 15 minutes the scoreline is like 2-17, that's a hard feed. You should just resign at that point and stop taking the match seriously. If you tryhard in such matches it would only tilt you.

I agree 100%. It's a shame we're talking to a wall, it seems. However, I like Tower Plating. I still believe the cause of your complaint is we no longer have access to the defensive stats after Runes Reforged, in conjunction with the addition of tons of damage runes.

What did you expect from a company whose ban system not only doesn't punish cheating but actively encourages it by rewarding the cheaters with banning the people that get mad at them? Don't expect a bad company to become good ever let alone over night.

Playing around plating gold is a huge strategic element. Just because you don’t understand/care for it doesn’t make it one.

It gives a large opportunity cost to roaming. It makes back timings more strict. It adds a dynamic between trying to deny your opponent CS or poke under tower or just hitting the tower for plate gold.

There is no tactics Riot has fuck up to the point if they keep these changes it might actually just kill the game.

I played some more and it seems that those games (mostly pre-DH hotfix) weren't that representative. Game quality is WAY better than when I made the post. It's still not where it should be but it's getting there slowly.
