Why I think towers are so weak

Posted this on a post complaining about how weak towers are, and have decided to repost it here

This issues isn't that towers are weak, but that they can't be buffed If Riot was to buff towers, the amount of effort it takes to destroy one is not worth the little gold you get (besides the first tower gold) This would mean that it would be more gold efficient to keep the tower alive to deny your enemy laner more gold than the gold you would receive for destroying that tower This means that people would not destroy towers (beyond the first one) until laning phase ends, where map pressure is more important than kills and cs

In order for Riot to fix this, they would need to buff towers, AND the gold they give This way it is worth spending the extra 30 - 60 seconds to destroy them, rather than denying more cs

Opening the map is much more useful than gold. It opens up for gank potential and map pressure. The problem is that towers are so easy to destroy, and the first tower gives so much gold, that you just can't sneeze at all that extra, early gold boost. Also if the enemy tower is destroyed, it becomes easier to deny their cs, since they have to overextend to get their farm (unless you push further)
