Literally me the first game I played this patch.

When someone is feared it says "Fleeing" not "Feared". The first few times I saw it I thought it said "Feeding" because it appeared on my ADC.

next level mind games. actually take the name and stand still to bait enemies into engages.

I actually really like the new effects, especially the summoner spell indicators for things like heal, really helps clarify a LOT that normally just flies under the radar most games.

Fun fact: Kassadin's Q gives people the "SILENCED" caption.

I never thought of it that way. I guess I'll have a smirk when I see that in-game from now on.

Actually, Hots has the same feature as this and I love it.

roots are different from stuns. Roots you can still doing stuff during, just not move. stuns, on the other hand, you can't do anything unless you are an olaf or tryndamere, or have QSS

It's pretty detrimental actually. People get distracted trying to read the status, when a symbol can instantly convey the same thing much quicker, and is thus easier to react to and play around. Even, I, someone who learned how to speed read in grade school, find myself delaying my own reaction time because seeing disruptive lettering pop up in the middle of multitasking makes me tend to read them out the long way.

Every. damn. game. since last patch. I guess my brain needs more time to get rid of that years old indoctrination that that little line above a healthbar is a nickname at all times.
