"Hmm, its a new year and a fresh start and I'm excited for these updates that will really shake things up in the competitive meta. Yes, that's right, we have:

-Nerfs, nerfs and more nerfs for the absurdly OP pick dominating their role and pushing out nearly every other champ: thats right, Sona. Sona is overpowered. We are nerfing FUCKING SONA.

-Some great massive unnecessary buffs for our latest CertainlyOP monstrosity! We will take a champion made to be high skillcap, change her so that any moron can get a pentakill with her, watch her dominate pro play for several months, and not do anything about it!

-Remember those champs who were dominating pro play last season and finally got rotated out of the meta to everyone's relief? Well, we're bringing one back. Say hi to buffs to Renekton's absurdly oppressive early laning!

Let's see...

Sona still has lost only last 5 ms. So that's one nerf, total.

Kalista both is rarely picked and meh, and they emphasized her teamwork W passive more. Buff, but not a very big one.

Renekton now loses fury faster and in larger amounts; in return, all his skills give fury (though much less on minions than before), and his Q now gives a flat heal instead of %damage. Overall slight buff to his laning (depending on damage you did with Q), better buff to lategame Q heal.

Maybe people would actually care if you both gave numbers and didn't hyperbolize everything?

He was talking about the (at the time) latest pbe patch. I responded to his point using the same pbe patch, which only included one additional Sona nerf; hardly a "Nerfs, nerfs and more nerfs" like the OP said, which would indicate both a large amount and large impact of nerfs. I think most people can agree that losing 5 ms is not a large amount OR a large impact of nerfs.

Hyperbolizing things and ignoring things that make their argument worse is actually the only thing sona threads do. Go find a sona thread that isnt just hyperbole and circlejerking. You cant.

Sona is an extremely oppressive laner with the second highest support winrate after Janna. She deserves being looked into. A small movespeed nerf is hardly even a love tap.

Kalista has low winrates and a huge portion of her damage is backloaded into her E which makes her pretty bad in this burst meta. She definitely deserves a little help.

Renekton has extremely low popularity and he hasn't been fulfilling his only niche as a lane bully that falls off in the late game, so they're giving that niche back to him.
