why do we even have matchmaking
if the games are going to look like this?
seriously
if the games are going to look like this?
seriously
that's a normal game buddy, normals have their own mmr
normal game the match making is wack.
i am unranked and i get placed with and against gold, plat and diamond players (was formally gold in season 5 quit rank cuz i just play for fun )
riot says normal game mmr and ranked mmr are separate and the rank mmr dont influence normal mmr
go figure. i have tried to get them to address this for 2 years now.
Norms have their own MMR Why does this surprise you

Jesus low ELOs going against an almost full team of gold.
Why do you even play normals?
It's absurd, they could at least average the two ranks for normal. either way, it seems hard to believe that even with separate ranks for each queue, that a lineup like this would be possible
just thought you might find it funny to know i just finished a normal game where my adc was master tier
honestly, i wouldn't mind the game forcing anyone below level 30 to be paired off with others below 30, i think thats how it was back when dominion existed idk i remember having more fun back then, i really miss dominion and i havent really played alistar since it was removed aside from a couple times.
now with infinite levels, Diamond players in season 1 quitting for like 5 seasons coming back and finding out about challenger or having to shake the rust off it would be a bit harder to que those at 30+ but what about taking their average KDA and win/loss % to make an MMR for casual play? itd be an invisible number so people dont freak but itd also allow them to get better by playing against people closer to their skill level.
itll also mean smurfs only really harass people below 30 then once the smurfs 30 it might as well play ranked and harass the people lower ranked then their main as theyd likely be qued off with diamond players or master tier players in casual - assuming players this high even bother with smurfs anymore
It's normal
Yeah sub 30s and a never ranked totally have huge MMRs lul. proof when I was leveling: https://imgur.com/TcZnVEu
The Yasuo was me. ( smurf in eune mostly used to play with old friends) When I played this game my account was level 31 and the system put me vs a challenger.
Note: The blanked parts are ads, my tabs, player names. ( i just noticed you can see my smurfs name by the URL, but .... meh whatever)
It's norms lol
rip
Levels below 30 should definitely be restricted to just levels below 30 in match making. But if the gold 5 player invited them into his game, this is what complicates things. I'd like to assume this would never happen to a level 25 if they queued Normals solo.
well the normal MMR of an account can be really low because most don't ever play normals. And ranked shouldn't affect mmr on normals. It is 2 different things. Same way your normal and ranked MMR don't have nothing to do with your ARAM matchmaking. Its different things
i just posted a question about this exact thing, im unranked vs 1-3 players gold and above with my team that might have 1 silver its crazy af
You seem to have a lot of misconceptions about how matchmaking works.
Let me try to help you with that.
Normals mmr is completely separate from ranked MMR, the only exception is that sometimes your normals MMR affects your ranked MMR for initial placements if you've never played ranked but lots of norms. That's not always the case, but it is suspected.
However, what affects normals far more than your average mmr is premades. Now, we've known for a long time that Riot will stack the deck against you when you have a premade on your team, if you duo in ranked your teammates will be placed against stronger and stronger opponents because they're supposed to lose lane and you carry them. This is to attempt to alleviate duo boosting, it won't make the game unwinnable in most cases, but it does make it more difficult.
This effect happens on steroids in normals game, especially if you have one teammate who has higher than average MMR, the higher their mmr the worse the effects on the enemy team will typically be. Plat players with diamond mmr will experience this significantly more, and gold players with plat mmr less, and gold players with slightly higher mmr the least.
Regardless, the higher the relative mmr of your team, which centers around your highest MMR player as well as how large your group is, they will try t obalance it. If you are a 3 man, you will go against either lower 5 man or higher duo/solo players, with average being even at 3-2 groups.
TLDR: stop having large premades and it will rarely if at all happen, unless you're higher elo.
