I'm still scratching my head on Rakan's AP ratios

  • The community lambasts any support that builds AP.

  • Riot has yet to make a decent catalog of support items that have ap on them. (Yes, Athene's is fucking garbage. You heard it here first.)

  • Rakan's design lends him to building a bunch of tank items.

  • Locket/Redemption still force their ways into every support's build.

"Hey lets give this guy shield/heal ratios that are stronger than basically every support in the game, just to justify making his base strength weaker."

They will stay until someone plays him mid, and Riot inevitably nerfs, because if a Support is viable in any other lane, they must be nerfed, even though most other champs can be played in both multiple roles and lanes, including support.

His kit's designed to gimp his solo laning since E is so important to him as a champ. Also, his damage dealing is garbage. Q is short range, kinda slow, and doesn't do great damage. W is delayed and does less damage than Q.

Also, his solo laning has little to do with the worthlessness of these ratios in the role he's supposed to do.

IMO most support items that aren't Locket/Redemption should be buffed to a level that makes them reasonable alternatives. In particular, if class-apathetic items are always better than class-oriented ones, it leads to a boring feeling of everyone building the same.

I just posted a thread suggesting a change to item 3174, but I'd also like to see some help for item 3504 item 3222 item 3050.

I mean, can't you basically say the same thing about every non-tank support that isn't primarily there to deal damage? Bard Janna Morgana Nami Sona Soraka all have AP ratios that largely go to waste because they have two mandatory 0-AP items plus sightstone, and then when they do get to build some AP, they don't get much of it.
