Tips for an Ahri player?

Hey guys!

I really want to climb up the ladder and since I am a support main, I plan on changing to mid. A champ that I really like is Ahri . In fact, I am level 6 with her. However, I still feel that I am not at all great. CS being one of the main problems of the many. Hitting minions is harder for me with any APC champ than an ad champ. Even though Kat does not have a great early game, I still manage to get more CS time to time. Also, I do miss my 'E' but when I do hit it, the enemy escapes with a small amount of health remaining.

Therefore, I would like to ask the many Ahri mains out there, how to carry hard as Ahri. Many a times I have got a lot of kills, my highest ever being 30/4 (if i remeber correctly) yet still lost the game. If possible please look at my games as Ahri, and tell me what is wrong since I am still below average at the game.

Thanks guys!!

The best way to learn ahri is watch how pro ahri's play, there is a certain playstyle one must develop overtime. Or play pattern. Its necessary to practice csing, especially under tower. Ahri is not a champ that likes to fall behind, no champ does but ahri in particular. She's fairly strong all game but isn't the champ that's going to carry your team to victory. Carrying is for work horses, her job is to kill stuff and be hawt while doing it. She's a proper mage :3

One of the biggest issues you will encounter is the early csing though. This can be solved in many ways such as attack speed masteries or AP runes. But again, it mostly comes down to you having an adequate earlygame farming strategy. Ahri is good at pushing the wave and controlling the wave to some degree but she is not a farmer. If you rush large amounts of AP this gets much easier however.

You do not land charms simply by having good aim. Due to how it functions in regards to minions and all that it is usually pretty obvious when she wants to love on your face. As ahri do not depend on that element of surprise nonsense or anything, you position your opponent and patiently force them into a position where evading it would cost too much.

Ahri's damage is not as great as some would have you believe. They are thinking of after they screw up and ahri powerspikes all over their team as any mage would after their repeated failures as a player. Ahri is like her older brother (release date and champion type) kassadin, both do low damage but have strong control over the time and location of engagements and are very good at denying chances of escape.

Ahri can build a lot of things, most of them are situational. This is the only item that ahri will generally always build item 1056 and here is the full list of core ahri items that you might not have to always build but you probably will anyways item 3165 ... that's it, item 3089 is a very strong option however.

The runes that I use are 3 ap quints, 9 armor seals and 9 mr. Masteries are the common mage ones with TDR. Any good pros you that you could recommend? Watching pros is a bit hard for new players as their combos are really, really fast.

P.S. About Ahri's damage, I have seen a few videos where she literally one shots the enemy adc or supports? Any idea how that happens?

this is fine, again its more a matter of adapting to what you do use

xpeke (old but shows a tankier ahri usually or just different in general, maybe not in this video in particular)

nightblue3 (pure showboating but will show you how to play with the advantage once you've got it)

**note that nightblue3 isn't a pro ahri, he's just a pro in general who has learned to play ahri and uses his general skills to win as ahri. By practicing the champ you focus on the champ, this is not a substitute for understanding the game itself which you can focus on if you are well adapted to a particular champ

adc and support are usually levels behind the solo laners. If ahri is in a good spot, the adc and support are in an average spot, and you catch them at a specific time because you have a lot of game knowledge and know exactly when this is. You will be able to do this as well even if you aren't that great. You can also invest in doing this with items like item 3285 if you are wanting to just kill them in a single round of spells. Do this if your intended target will easily be killed in a single or 2 rounds of spells. Preferably a single one. Otherwise you want AP and CDR

Ahri's damage isn't that high, but its FUCKING FAST. Ahri's damage is lower than leblancs and all of them but its FASTER than theirs once it starts landing.

Ahri has less damage than akali, much less, but if ahri has enough damage to kill her then akali will be the first to die.
