So... anyone who says the matchmaking is O.K...

No, no it's not.

Legitimately, this has to be one of the most frustrating games I've ever played in recent memory. It's actually tilting close to the point of making me want to just leave League, but yet here I am still remaining in hopes it becomes less awful sometime later.

Really, what's the point? Just have us load into the game, scroll to our nexus exploding on-the-spot, and save me/us the waste of time.

I've had Diamonds and Plats go against full teams of Silvers/Bronzes in Normals a lot. Normal MMR is hilarious for that.

This is an eye-opener on matchmaking in Mobas if you got a few minutes. Your meant to have bad games and uneven matches to make Que times faster.

{quoted} when you get matched with lv 81 who doesnt know how to Press R then you can complain, btw im lv 29

Level means nothing BTW - All it indicates is time played. You can loose every game and still level up if you play long enough.

your matchmaking is fine compared to what mine was https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/407644840252407809/412482262945497088/matchmaking.png

Be glad it's not Heroes of the Storm come off hours when the player base isn't high enough. There's actually recorded matches of Masters getting paired with Bronze xD!

It is because normal and ranked have two different MMRs.

Don't care. That's never an excuse for a discrepancy that massive. There's no point in having different norm/ranked MMRs if neither do their jobs and "force" losses.

They aren't forcing losses. That game is easily winnable, you just didn't the skill to win. You're complaining about losing and yet you decided to go Ahri support? Also if your Normal MMR is high enough to hit with golds, it means you recently were on a win streak or had a lot of wins. Of course riot will put you against more skillful people. It wouldn't make sense to let a skilled player continuously demolish newer players. Otherwise you'd have no new people to play against. So it is actually balanced.

It's a forced loss if it's because suddenly I'm fighting someone several thousand times my skill-level. The fact it can be won doesn't really matter, because the chance was slim or not there at all and that wouldn't have changed magically.

So you think Riot should always pair you up with people exactly your skill level 24/7?

I think if I'm doing well in silver, put me against people that play at a gold level.

Not all of a sudden put me against people that are playing at a plat or diamond level.

Yes but they aren't putting you against plats and definitely not against diamond. If you are getting placed against plats, that means you're on a win streak and your MMR is very high. It however is IMPOSSIBLE to be playing agaisnt Diamond. Your mmr simply can't get that high in silver. If you're duo queue with a gold player or above, it's possible, but in solo queue, the highest you'll ever play against is plat 1. D5 is simply impossible cause you'd have to win so many games that you'd be out of silver.

Have you ever tried Flex?

I was being put against plats and the occasional diamond player when I was silver on a regular basis

No I havn't tried flex. Cause almost no one plays flex. Flex ranking is quite different than SoloQ. In Flex, you can win 2 placement games and get gold.

Well then I must be special because last year I won most of my games and got put bronze 1! :O

What sort of magic is this that I missed out on?

Oh, I'm not saying that it is an excuse or even that it is ok, just explaining it.

I feel like there are smurfs all up in that game.

Most silver 2 players I know are lucky to crack 6 cs/min, much less 8.8/min while behind and with an ahri 'support'. Likewise, the nasus cs/min is better than I'd expect for unranked, so the overall skill levels might be closer than a quick glance at ranks might suggest.
