Why am I matched against Challenger and Master players in ARAM?

Ok, I realize it's 5:50 AM EST upon posting this and that it happened in ARAM, but seriously, there is no one else on at this time that I have to be paired against Master and Challenger players? I'm unranked. The highest people (2) on my team were Gold 3. How is this fair? Not to mention one of my teammates decided to AFK, reconnect, and then troll, it would've been hard enough against people my skill level, let alone against them.

It wasn't even a game since my team basically gave up 3 seconds into the game after recognizing that one of the enemies was Challenger. Why even bother pairing teams so unbalanced?

Unranked, Silver 2, Gold 5, Gold 3, Gold 3 vs Unranked, Gold 3, Diamond 3, Master, Challenger.
Is it really any question which team is gonna win?

I'm pretty sure ARAM has it's own MMR...maybe you have a fairly high MMR. Remember, it's not necessarily related to only what your capabilities are - the other team probably had a player with a similar skill level to yours.

My normal MMR is quite a bit higher than my ranked, so I get matched with players that are better than me routinely. I look at it as a chance to improve my game. It was frustrating at first, but now I have the opposite problem - when I get paired with lower MMR players, it frustrates me because they don't know what to do in many situations.

Use it as a chance to improve

I was playing it like a normal ARAM game, but the rest of my team just gave up. Not much I can do as Zilean when I get a 2 person stun and no one does anything with it. I honestly don't care about the enemy players rank, but when my team goes "OMG it's contractz, we lost" there's not much I can do except just play it like it's a normal ARAM game and do my best. Still, it sucks when it's a 4v5 and your team wants to surrender because minute 1. Our Vayne was at least trying to kill people, even if they were picking the wrong moments to do it.

Well that's another downside of playing anything other than ranked with high MMR players - they tend to not take ARAM & Normals seriously (and truthfully, there's a good argument for and against taking those game types seriously).

The only thing you can really do is give it your best - I was a terrible League player until I started playing ARAM a lot - ARAM gave me the exposure I needed to the champs I didn't own/play in order to know how/when to play against those champs. Now I'm a mediocre league player :)

For one, your MMR in ARAM is totally different than all of the other queues.

Also, this isn't a regular occurence for you,, the master/challenger was probably in a premade with that unranked fresh 30.

ALSO, it looks like you have an ARAM account, an account that only has the OP ARAM champs on it for the purpose of having an unfair advantage, so I don't feel bad for you at all, I came to this conclusion after looking at the rolls you get, over 90% of the time you get god-tier champions. If you are going to use what I consider an exploit to boost your ARAM MMR you don't have any grounds to stand on when you get matched against players that are totally out of your league.

I understand it's different, but it seems extreme that a lvl 1 could be paired against a challenger in ARAM just because the MMR system is separate. Even if the challenger player has never played ARAM, they know the champions abilities and what they are capable of.

As far as ARAM only, this is my only account and I main ADC/Support or randomly Mid in my SR games and prefer ranged champs. I guess that may make it look like an ARAM account, but honestly it's because I have just bought the champs that are Markmans or supports or mages that can also support. I mean, Vayne, Poppy, Trundle, and Eve suck in ARAM, but are good in multiple roles for SR. But, I doubt I'm going to change your mind.

You shouldn't give up just because there's a high ranked player on the enemy team, a few days ago I played an Ascension match against a Challenger player who is a sub for C9 and won.

The thing is, if they're matchmade against you they're probably playing with their casual friends. And also they probably don't take fun modes/norms seriously at all.

With that game though, they multiple high ranks and they got a better team comp too so that was pretty RIP.

I didn't give up, but the rest of my team did. I was trying to fight them off but it's hard to do when your team is doing nothing. I had stunned the Soraka autoing our tower and no one went in to finish her despite her health being low. There's literally nothing I can do without either items or teammates.

Dam, son, you got trolled by Rito. But honestly, I would love to see some players like that in my games, that would be exciting.

Honestly, the only thing that was really different about that game was that they were willing to dive to our tier 2 tower while our tier 1 was up to get kills. Other than that, it was just a normal dodge skill shots type game.

Why did you give up simply because he was Challenger? Why not challenge yourself? why not try at least? I would've. Beating him, even in ARAM, would mean bragging rights for weeks.

I didn't give up, my team did. I was still trying to double bomb people as Zilean but my team was sitting behind towers doing nothing.

Just like normals, ranking isn't considered in Arams.
