To all 4-man premades

AhmCha··20 votes·1,106 views

Please, please, please, just try to find a 5th person to queue up with. being the only solo player in a 4-man premades is honestly just not a good experience. You're either stuck with 4 perfectly coordinated people, or 4 AP Talon's and either way it feels like there's nothing you can do to help win the game, which is one of the worst feelings that this game can offer. If you can find three people, you can probably find a 4th, so please just consider it for the game's health.

I had the unfortunate experience of having to play with the same 4-man premade twice, and in the second time, they banned my champion in champ select because they "didnt like" the way i played him last game. Only from a dynamic queue environment would you see behavior like this.

And then add the fact that you're also facing a 4 man premade. Then, your team will probably have cool mlg matching clan tags, so the enemy knows you're the solo player. Get ready for coordinated dives for days with no help from your own team.

Get some friends to play with then and stop playing by yourself

Maybe some of us dont like being boosted?

Mr Fidori5 votes

Lol I love that this stereotype will inevitably pop up in these threads.

Side note: boosting is playing on someone else's account to raise their rank.

Or playing with/on someone so they can get higher elo.

Mr Fidori4 votes

Yeah that's what it's turned into now. Before that was just being carried.

GULAG 4 U5 votes

The thing is getting carried is by some random good teammates. Getting boosted right now is playing with high elo smurfs to get carried into higher elo. And you play with these smurfs every game. So it's consistent.

Seriously. What is the difference?

Old boosting- HIgh elo player plays on your account to get higher elo

New boosting- Playing with high elo smurfs to get higher elo. (Illegal)

You still are abusing the system to get higher elo, the only thing is (legal)

  1. You're dragging down the high elo smurfs by performing poorly

  2. It's not against Riot's terms of service, since you don't break any rules, you don't share account info.

So basically the new DQ pretty much promotes boosting and creates an easy and legal loophole.

I think there's a difference between something being possible, and something being promoted. Saying it promotes "boosting" implies that Riot (or anyone) wants it to occur, which is irrational.

Also, the fraction of people that do it face the same problem that they used to: falling right back down as soon as they get anywhere.

Getting carried on a regular basis and haveing mmr and rank increase accrdingly till it no longer reflects the personal skill off the player certainly can be called boosted i guess. Though i do agree that the boosted sterotype is a bit idiotic. Most of the non solo players play withpremades because they like to play with friends and not with the purpose of getting bossted. However, getting boosted is a bad side-effect that still ocurse wether intendet or not, just that the bossted sterotyp blames the players while the issue lies in the system.

Finally, someone with a little sense (and a lot of typos, lol).

Sire Hippington2 votes

Not all of them are typos i fear, english isn't my native toung and spelling isn't exactly a strength of mine o.O

Haha all jokes, man. I see you're on EUW, so you likely speak more languages than I do.

Boosting is also playing with a smurf account to raise your account

Which is what dynamic q is

Bunch of Smurfers just boosting everybody and their mother

Mr Fidori1 votes

That is what the community has dubbed it now.

Also, I'd rather climb rank for my own challenge and have everyone think I was "boosted" than not try cause a stranger won't believe I did it. I'm the only opinion that matters anyway.

PiVoRx4 votes

Say thanks to Riot that made boosting legal. Playing in a premade = boosting, its much easier to climb in a team with voice comms than solo. Deal with it.

Mr Fidori1 votes

Screw that. Anything more than a duo is just inefficient unless you're a full team that regularly practices. It's a lot easier to play solo/duo than to try to beat a team (or a group of solos/duos a division higher than me) with a team of my friends.

Despite being a team game, Players should not be penalized for opting to play as a solo player in a team. It's not in the ToS or in the Summoner's Code, so this attitude of it being a requisite isn't helping anyone or convincing anyone that misses soloqueue that DQ is a viable replacement.

I was expecting "SMD" not an impassioned plea.

I certainly think that in game, but I firmly believe that flaming does 0 good and a lot of harm, so I try to keep those statements locked up

...I do not always succeed

Mr Fidori1 votes

Some of us only have 3 friends who regularly play and are of a similar skill level to ourselves. And it equally sucks when we try to coordinate with and involve the fifth person for the sake of the game only to get ignored or flamed at.

Disclaimer: I only play 4-man in normals (where people still get mad about it), before someone calls me "boosted" or "fanboy"

Truly Prideful1 votes

But what if we are a 4-man trying to find that 5th bro? You could be the chosen one friend. Serious note though, we try to avoid it but sometimes just don't have someone to fill the open role so we just have to queue up. We still communicate heavily with the solo so we're not one of those groups. ( This is normals, I wouldn't dynamic in ranked because that's lame )

It's almost as if you didn't read it because I said I wouldn't dynamic in ranked.

As someone who often enough played in a 4 man premade(in normals), i can asure you that 4 man premades really try to find a 5th man, cause haveing that 1 random players is always like loterry, it can be a great player that works well with the team, it can be a jungle zed that gets executed at redbuff, it can be a toplane nasus that hasn't left toplane once in a 50 min game... IF you have the choice, you allways want to que as 5 rather than 4, but sometimes you just have 3 of your buddies online and no more. I personaly dislike playing rankeds in that situation, but most people don't, and since it's aviable i can't really blame them for doing som but the fact that they can do so is surely questionable.

Hey,

I Dont think you should generalize this to all premades. Me and my friends are extremely friendly and welcoming to 'randoms' or 'pugs' when we queue as 4. I think most players wanna win, so they should be antagonizing the fifth guy like that.

Sorry you had to experience that , but me and my buds are super friendly and casual. Not all premades are toxic (but reading some of the stores, looks like some of them are).
