When did Sivir become the best champ in the game?

Pick rate around 22%, win rate just about 54%. I don't remember her being the best champ in the game when I looked on the sites a week or two ago. What happened? I mean yeah, Ez is both popular and a free win for sivir, and she beats up Kai'sa as well but that can't be all of it.

She's had that ability forever though.

And she dropped once or twice since release. She will almost always be strong, in a game where so many CC sources exist

She's good for a multitude of reasons:

  1. She's been buffed. This is a pretty good reason but its completely true.
  2. She fills a very vital niche as an ADC that other's can't and is important because of the meta we're in; let's face it, 90% of the best carries currently in the game are champions that like to go fast or have limited mobility to get into a fight. The meta champions are things like Hecarim, Aatrox, Tahm Kench, etc... Champs that want to get in and do a lot of damage but might struggle to do so; Sivir is an ADC that can assist them in that regard. She literally has a free righteous glory as an ult. The best part is that she also scales like a monster while being ridiculously safe so she can take care of herself in most teamfights. TLDR; She fits the meta
  3. While this fits in with 1, its also its own separate point; her core item, essence reaver, has been buffed multiple times because for some strange reason, they refuse to just revert it completely to what it was before 8.11. .-.
  4. She has a very straightforward, binary play style, more so than other ADCs, that means that even if she loses lane, she will always be useful. Her AoE wave clear is unmatchable so even if she loses lane really hard, she literally can single handedly stop the enemy team from pushing and her ult never depreciates based on her own strength. She can lose lane and still win game as she can easily stall games out and doesn't actually take all that skill to play well. I've found success on her without actually being good.
  5. Other ADCs still have their early game base stat nerfs; less important but this means Sivir can more easily compete with them.
  6. She's fairly generalist which is an issue that's not just solitary to her; Ezreal also suffers from this. By generalist I mean she fits nearly every comp and situation; she's never not a wrong answer.

She is a free pass in bot lane. Braindead champion can't lose lane.
