ashe is a ranged adc. fiora is a melee adc. morde is a bruiser whos played in duo lane.

he scales with both, but his spells deal magic damage. so ideally hes probably still played as ap bruiser. but you can build items like titanic hydra on him and it will increase his spell damage.
his passive shield also scales with health as far as ive seen.

They changed his innate scaling so that his Q is more rewarding.
His W has always been AP based Along with his R. The scalings on them are always nice because end-game hybrid morde you can steal 40% of their HP while still having 2.5k+ HP and dishing out massive AD through your gunblade and botrk
