Playing against leona tips...?

I dont see or play her often, though the last I could remeber her E was not a pass through ability (probably wrong.) Anyways I generally find myself straining/frustrated at my inability to find the counterplay to her initiation or laning phase. Im not calling her broken or any of that shit, just having trouble fighting her in general. I've been trying to get familiar with the width of the skillshot (assuming that I can predict where she is aiming and sidestep it of course) but to no success. It's a bit confusing as I'm generally able to sidestep Rocket Grabs and Thresh hooks, though this may just been from prior experience...? Anyways what are some tips on fighting her in general? Requesting "countering/playing around Zenith blade" and playing against her as a marksmen. Last memeory as a Varus player against her was pretty dreadful as I recall.

She has no sustain.

Can be baited harder than any other support.

She has fairly weak defense/survivability for a support tank (Ex: Alistar Braum Taric are all significantly harder to kill; DAT PATRIARCHY DOE LOLZ)

ADC or Support, build full tank against her. If you dont, she will surely insta kill you with her tanky powers. Don't forget about riot's secret passive.. For every 1k hp you have, gain 1000 ad and 1000ap

since she is a melee support your best bet would be a ranged support. Poke her down before she has the chance to all in you. Also you can play something like morg to spell shield her stun or braum to block the damage from her adc. Even alistar to headbutt the enemy adc away there. Thresh can flay her when she uses her zenith blade

learn how to play Janna or Morgana, then either disengage when she engages or turn on her ADC when she engages. If you're the ADC, especially as Varus, you should be sitting back while her E is up, then pressuring her lane while it's down. you have about 10 seconds to get some AA harass in, and her lack of sustain will make it stick. once she falls behind, you can win lane once her cooldowns are down. respect her post-6 engage, though, and her jungle ganks.

in general, i advise picking a more mobile champion into Leona, but Varus can win early if she positions bad. her level 1 isn't good, and if she takes W to shake off harass she's down E or Q. Abuse your range + her E cooldown and poke her ADC out. if you can get her AD low, she won't have followup, and then you can jump on her AD easier for a free kill. once leo doesn't have followup, she dies. or, if her positioning is HORRID and she doesn't know when to engage, which happens a lot with Leonas, you can poke her into submission and then she can't engage without dying.

1.Take urgot and poke her down with E + Q [ build him tank as well ]

  • Build SunfireCape - DPS on her while/if you are stunned by her as a support 2.If you and your ADC both take cleanse she is useless.

Her E always passes through and PULLS her to the 2nd tagged champ, not the first.

  • So if you are trying to save your ADC from getting CC'd by her, its actually better for you to stand directly behind your adc and not infront.

Get your ADC to build MercurialScimitar first so that they have a 2nd CC debuffer
