They're currently balancing around Pro play and worlds, they wouldn't want to shake up the meta during such an event.
After 7.19 we'll get regular patches so hold your breath, we'll get changes eventually, just not in the next few weeks.

Board's Alt Reality: Mages are terribly weak! Reality: Cassiopeia is a contested pick. Orianna, Taliyah, and Syndra are pick bans. Morellonomicon and Lost Chapter are super broken. Zhonyas is still core on every mage. Mage items are just terrifically unbalanced (some broken, some bad).
Board's Alt Reality: Bot lane is the only lane that has had no diversity and ADCs (and therefore DPS) has only existed. Reality: Every role has a requirement and job. Top lane is tankiness. Mid lane is burst. Bot lane is DPS. Support is peel. Niche picks like Morde ADC, Lucian mid, Teemo top, Brand support, ect. have always existed; bot lane just has the least of them.
Boards are just the people who want the world to change, but hates that the world has changed.

I disagree with you on this part. Top lane's job isn't really tankiness. If this was truly the case, then more people would play tanks over more carry oriented champs(http://champion.gg/statistics/#?sortBy=general.playPercent&order=descend&roleSort=Top). In LCS is it tankiness? Sure. In soloque? No, it's the most diverse role in the game.

Melankoli3 votesthe zed buffs did not make him meta, they are pretty much negligible. AS buff didn't do anything Shadow buff might allow 2 E's in a shadow without cdr, but no one with a brain gets hit by that anyway.

Maddéy1 votesYeah that occured to me too. Right now the competitive adc meta revolves around trading Tristana and Kalista. If both are taken down through the bans, the rest of the adcs are kinda on the same strength page. You dont want to cut that diversity down.
