Need advice on avoiding jungle ganks as ADC

No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to avoid jungle ganks. There are times where I have spent most of the early game near tower red side and the very instant I step close to the first brush the enemy jungle is in lane to press a 3v2.

I tend to ward the lane brush to avoid being poked, but even with wards in the river it feels the very moment I see an enemy jungle it's already too late, as they come packed with gap closers on top of flash.

Even with perfect last hitting, the minion wave will eventually move. So I try to quickly shove it under tower for a faster reset, only to often be ganked immediately.

Is it preferable to just let the enemy adc freeze the wave until the jungle reveals himself on the map?

I'd say just watch at the enemy bot lane's behavior. I can usually tell when a gank is going to happen just by slight signs of how they play. Is their adc pushing when he was not before? Is the support playing "weird" and going aggressive when there is no reason to?

It depends on the situation to see if you should let them push or not, If you see their jungle ganking bot a ton bot lane, then trying to see where he is in another lane could help. However, you can't really only play by tower and play super safe because at that point you are basically giving up the lane for not dying. Also, warding does help, I just tend to look at behaviors of player more than the actual map (I do die to ganks sometimes cause of it, but i'm usually able to figure out when one is going to happen). Then again, I play neeko adc so that could help me.

Wards.

Obvious, and definitely harder to keep up on than people try to tell the support it is. The support will help you keep warded, but definitely pull your weight at keeping vision. I'll break this down into a couple of key things here.

  • Always ward your tri-bush (the one closest to your tower in your jungle, not the river bush) and (if you think it's safe) have your support ward farther out into the river than the bush, such as in front of dragon pit. Not only are these wards key to seeing the enemy jungler before you get jumped, but they also monitored key areas of the map for more than just your lane. Enemy jungler sneaking dragon, for example, will be spotted if you ward in the center of river instead of river bush. Enemy jungler will be spotted trying to walk into your tri-bush from a decent distance, which tells you in addition to his impending gank that he's been lurking around in your team's jungle.

  • Pink wards are more than just support ward-clearing tools. If you have an open item slot and 75 gold, pick one up, and stick it in your tri-bush. Always the tri-bush, unless one is already there. That ward covers your flank, an entrance/exit from your jungle, and is riskier for the enemy to reach and take out, so it will last quite far into the game, unless you have to give it up to avoid a gank. It also prematurely denies the enemy support or jungler from attempting to keep vision on your jungler's pathing, as that bush can show them immediately if he's heading for his gromp/krugs (whatever side you're on), trying to rotate into your lane, or attempting to back after a clear. Since it's risky for the enemy team to clear your pink without getting jumped on, they're going to be left with no choice but to fall back if you and your support (and maybe your jungler) respond quickly to keep it alive. Throwing a spare into the river bush is ok, but never let your tri-bush be dark.

Positioning and Aggression

Some of this will seem like complete common sense...but some you may not really think of at all, though they can easily be the key to what you're trying to avoid.

  • As a general rule, try to keep yourself positioned behind your minions...everyone knows that. But what most people don't say is to also try and position yourself as far away from the jungle openings as you can while you do. Staying farther away from river and the entrances to the jungle means that the enemy jungle has to cover more ground before they can reliably gapclose on you...and if the bushes sitting in your lane aren't warded, you can pull off some really sick jukes too.

  • Do not be afraid to be more aggressive. If you're more aggressive, you look more intimidating. Obviously, don't Leeroy it into every fight, but don't keep yourself permanently under tower either. The best time to shove a wave into enemy turret is when you believe they went back. The enemy jungler would be pretty ballsy to gank you without his laners there, so if you think they went back, hard push the lane, then go back yourself. It's about the most time efficient strategy to keep up in items, and the safest way to avoid unnecessary ganks.

  • The ideal place to freeze a wave is right about at the torch on your side of the river (if you play a game and look at the cliffs next to the river entrance, you'll see it) as it shows you're not so scared of the enemy that you're going to hide under tower, but you're not so aggressive that you're going to get ganked. It keeps all your gold from being eaten by tower, and also keeps the wave from pushing too far back toward the center as long as you can keep it there. If you can consistently keep the wave there, it shows your skill at wave manipulation - an often invisible factor that can both add to your own intimidation factor, or tilt a more impatient enemy into trying to take the less favorable end of an engage to attempt to break your control on the waves and have you get away from your safe zone. It also leaves only one real way for the enemy jungler to reach you - your tri bush...which will if you're following me never be dark. Lastly, it makes it easier for your jungler to gank them instead.

Knowing When To Recall

This one is easily overlooked, but probably the most important.

  • Just because you're under tower does not mean you're safe from a gank. PARTICULARLY at lower hp, you will get dived on. If you need to withdraw, then withdraw. Do not worry if that means that you stagger the recalls between you and the support - they like solo exp, and as long as they're not also at low hp, they probably fare better alone against dives than you do, since most of them have simple-but-effective utility and cc to lock people under turret and almost guarantee the dive isn't worth it. You can trust me on this point over any of the others - I'm a support player.

  • If you are sitting on a boatload of gold, just go back. you don't need to save until you can outright purchase your item without any components, and unless you're moving for an objective immediately, or about to lose an objective immediately, you're much better off going back instead of lollygagging around. If your team is going to get that objective with little to no contest without your help (ex. you kill bot lane + jungler + mid, and your jungle, support and mid are going to a basically free dragon), don't be afraid to just go back and buy. Keeping up on items is its own deterrant - junglers are less likely to gank you if you have the potential to turn and reverse sweep them and their bot lane.

  • I already hit this one, but if your opposing lane recalls, hard push the lane to try and make them lose the max amount of exp and gold possible, then immediately go back and buy. This keeps you on similar items to them (or if you were ahead, it keeps you ahead) while resetting the lane and costing the enemy resources you're more likely to still catch in time when you get back to lane. And again, junglers are less likely to gank you when they're getting to your lane alone. The most likely thing they'll do in the event they're in the area as you do this is catch the exp and gold under their lane's tower, then go back to their route, because if they try something too aggressive, they're likely to die.

Honestly now, you don’t have agency. The solution to ganks for botlane is just say fuck it and let them have your turret.

Jungle ganks almsot exclusivly with the midlaner roaming, so you are going to get dove 2v4.

Cut your losses and sack the turret.

Jungle main here.

Theres a few simple things you can do to avoid getting ganked. First and foremost, TRACK THE JUNGLER. If bot lane leashed their jungler he's going to start bot side. You can use your jungler as a good indicator of where theres is for the early game. When he's done clearing, they're probably done clearing and will be heading top. Some junglers like to gank early, however. If you're not sure where their jungler is, back off. You can't rely on tracking their jungler by your jungler movements for very long either. At some point their pathing will change.

Don't over extend without proper vision. If you find yourself near their tower, low on hp, you look like a nice juicy gank for their jungler. If they have hard cc and you and your support don't have a good disengage that jungler is going to be hovering your lane because it's easy picks for him. If you dont have summoner spells their bot lane called it out to their jungler so he knows. You're going to be vulnerable. Play around your weaknesses. Prepare for it.

If the enemy gets really aggressive when they really shouldn't be its because they know something you don't. Get out.

TLDR;

  • Track their jungler

  • Keep gank and escape potential in mind (which team has more cc, which team has more mobility)

  • Play safe unless you know where that jungler is.

  • Pay attention to your enemies behavior

I mean fellow MF main, she is one of the most immobile adcs in the game so we always have a bad time at evading ganks.

Buy item 2055 , now, it looks stupid but check how many times in your games you buy wards.

On the other hand you have to always be aware of the map, if the enemy jng shows up in toplane you are safe for a while etc

Always ALWAYS get a pink ward everytime you back and ward tribush, it will give your support room to pink other key locations and you'll know that your tribush is covered no matter what.

If you cant take an enemy dive, recall, dont risk dying to get a wave, simply reset.
