I was debating on whether

was a better choice for top lane. They both have pros and cons, but which is better and for what reason?

Because Illaoi isn't Fiora.
You could do the honorable respectable thing and not play either of them.
That's an "Apple or Banana?" question .. it depends on personal preferences ..
