I would genuinely love to talk to all of you about this game.

First of all. Ask your self, (don't need to reply to me on what you say.) But ask yourself. do you enjoy league?

Second. Are you able to stop playing? if not, why cant you. addiction? thats fine. i can understand that.

i would like to provide a website on how many hours you play league in its entirety. Heres the link, put your username into it and it will show the amount of time provided to this game.

My Record shows... ive have spent 102,255 minutes. or 1,704 hours or 71 DAYS

71 days. of PURE league of legends. that is actually insane when you think about 71 days worth of pure league of legends.

There is a guy that has played 512 days worth of his life on this single game, that changes all the time. it is frustrating. I don't get how that person hasn't hit the bucket yet. this game has driven me insane in my 30th day of pure league. but 512.... that's a fuck ton of time... that you can never get back, When i say Get back I mean the things you could have done in that time. replace league with anything else.

At that point, 512 days isn't just out of fun for the game, its a competition for him. he wants to be the #1 person... the record holder for this game.

Isn't time to move onto something new?

What finally killed the addiction (yes, i actually was addicted to this game.) what killed the addiction was another game for me. it was Elsword. yeah i get it. kids game, but this game isnt about 30 minutes at a time, doing the same thing over and over and over. this game has variety on charaters, items, dungeons, etc. you progress. and dont start over from minute 1 again.

I hope you guys actually can stop playing league because i care for those that are unhappy yet still play this game. i want you to try and find something new for the sake of sanity. dont play this game. accept what elo your in, or accept the highest elo youve made it too. i made it to P5, hoping to get to diamond this year. but the changes that are constantly made to league cannot let me go past P5.

im happy with P5, im not trying to prove anything. and i hope you can understand that.

Just find a game. anything. League should not be your answer. this game is so toxic, Elsword is friendly. league makes me hate life. Elsword doesn't.

5 weeks of not playing league and i feel great, i want others to feel good about themselves too on games.

Just because you were addicted, if in fact you were actually addicted, doesn't mean most are.

And play time especially when considered over the span of time can be shocking until you put it into perspective.

For example how would you spend the time you gain back if not on a Video Game?

If the answer is you'd invest the same amount of time into another hobby, then your whole time point is moot. Because you would just spend that time doing something else.

I don't, despite popular opinion, find this game toxic. The players can be, but I can control that as well.

Interestingly, you like many other people, tie their self worth into how good they are at any video game.

And really that's the Crux of the situation. I don't feel any where close as you do. I play the game a ton and I'm still in Silver.

I'm okay with that. I enjoy the game and? My self worth is not dependent on how I perform In any games I play.

Dude, people like the game. Your post is essentially just an attempt at making people feel bad for putting time into something they enjoy, even if they get frustrated from time to time. League is a competitive, mechanic heavy game, of course, people are going to get upset or frustrated periodically. I've spent, according to that site, around 53 days playing league. That time doesn't feel wasted to me at all because those 53 days were accumulated over the course of well over 4 years. I have other stuff I do. Most people that put time into league also have jobs or school or other hobbies in general. That website is incredibly misleading in its omission of how much time you've spent not playing league within whatever timespan you've played league. Based on what you've said league is just not for you. To people that actually enjoy the game and like spending time on improving, just like any other hobby such as art, this post just seems like a slap in the face. This isn't helping anyone. The people that may need a wakeup call aren't the ones that are on the boards, they're in game. Spending the time that they should be using to find a job or study or something instead to play league. The ones that are actually incurring a detriment on themselves through massive amounts of play time aren't going to be on the boards.

It's a popular sentiment among non gamers, that every gamer who games any amount of time is addicted.

When in reality, it's not how non-gamers spend their time. And a lot of people have a very hard time accepting how other people live or spend their time when it doesn't match their personal values.

Furthermore, it means to me that these same people must have people conform to their way of thinking as a defense mechanism to confirm what they think k is right, which means they aren't actually confident in what they think.

People who are confident might say the following about gamers who spend a lot of time gaming.

"Gaming? Yeah that's cool, but not for me, I enjoy x."

They don't say "Gaming? You spent how long? What a waste of time You should do like I do and do x."

By the way this sort of B.S think applies to more than just hobbies.

Youll find it in religion and politics too.

Be aware of it. Decide for yourself what's acceptable and act accordingly and be happy with your choice. Don't shit on other who choose differently from you.

You might want to take a look at your stance and beliefs if, when you present them to a large body of your intended audience, they get overwhelmingly rejected. Most of the people here are responding to you with calm and thought out responses, and your response to a lot of them is 'oh you're just shitting on me because you disagree.' instead of looking at why so many people disagree. Your responses just lead me to believe you're the kind of person that believes themselves 'woke' to the 'real world' while ignoring all of the evidence to the contrary (the entire comment thread).

It's about choices you make and opportunity cost. If you choose A opportunity, you are giving up B opportunity given that A &B cannot both be chosen.

Example: you choose to read 1Q84 (a personal favorite). That means your passing on the opportunity to read or spend your time elsewhere as you read this book.

I think in this case, the down votes are warranted. Because if you read the thread the OP isn't actually concerned for anyone.

I'd rather they be more up front and state why they hate the game and why we should to. Instead of pretending to be concerned.
