Conflicting thoughts on wukong?

Some say he's bad against other top laners early while some say he's good/dominating.

Some say his ult makes him a good teamfighter while others say he's squishy and dies. Thoughts?

A wukong in the right hands is a nightmare 4 the enemy team. He has a good laning fase agaist most other top laners ( Not allways easy, but most of the time not hard either). He is easy to farm with, and has great team fight potencial with his ult. His passive allows him to be somewhat tanky when in a team fight and his ult has a massive ad ratio (440 if the target gets hit for the entire duration) and with a black cleaver he 1 shots the squishys. I think that you should try and wait for him to enter the FW and try him out, I find him to be a good buy

In my experience, it depends slightly on the match up in top lane and, as always, the relative skills of the players. I think Wukong is kind of in the middle as far as his power in lane phase; he has a rough time vs lane bullies, but can bully a lot of weaker laners as well. His ult is great for teamfights, but usually you build somewhat tanky on Wukong after 1-2 damage items, so depending on where you are in your build, he can be tanky enough to deal with a lot of damage or he can be pretty squishy. He's a bruiser, so he's not as tanky as a full tank, but he's still tankier than an assassin or something.
